Sometimes I take a break from birding to take photos of the amazing work being done in my own backyard, and fortunately, this time it’s for an organization I’m very close with! 🐟

Today was Return of the Salmon at Kanaka Creek, and what an amazing day out. I recently joined the Kanaka Education & Environmental Partnership Society (KEEPS) as a volunteer board member, and this was my first big event with the group. It was great to see the passion the other board members and volunteers bring to this, and even better to see how interested the public was in learning about the life cycles, anatomy, and fun facts about our Pacific salmon species. The questions didn’t stop all day!
