The end of the summer isn’t that bad when you know that Amsterdam Dance Event is getting closer!! 🔊

Here are my top picks for the week; proper techno, groove, and some of the highest-rated artists around, plus a few surprises along the way.

And my forever N1 tip: let ADE surprise you. Get a little lost, wander the city, and let the unexpected find you.

I’ve marked the events I’ll be attending — there will probably be some last-minute additions, but for now… will I see you at any of these? 👀

See you on the dancefloor… or maybe even in a conference or panel! 😉

One of Amsterdam’s most iconic rave venues is finally reopening 🖤

After more than a year behind closed doors, the Gashouder is coming back just in time for ADE.

From its industrial beginnings to becoming one of the most recognisable spaces in Amsterdam’s electronic music scene, this place has decades of history behind it.

And now, a new chapter begins. Who’s ready to be back on that dancefloor? 👀

🖼️ On Friday I visited @mocomuseum in Amsterdam with two friends and I had an idea… matching each artwork to a track from my playlist.

I’m a very synesthetic person, so certain visuals instantly trigger sounds in my head—and it works both ways. I often attach songs to specific moments, places, or stories… (you may know this already if you follow me on TikTok lol)

Am I the only one who does this or is it actually relatable?!???

Big thanks to @growtag for the invite 🫂
Here’s the tracklist in case any song caught your ear:

@svetec_official - Dance with me
@zwilling.music @240kmh @louis.bpm - Tranquilo
@anyma @chrisavantgarde - Consciousness
@endormusicuk - Sway
@eduimbernon @coyumusic - El Baile Alemán
Mory Kanté - Yeke Yeke (Short Mix)
@sera__j_music - Your Soul Is Art
@aerea000 - The world is still a jungle

@tillatec closing really feels like more than just another club shutting down in Amsterdam…

In such a short time it became that spot — for afters, sunrise moments in the garden, and those nights that somehow just kept going. From hardgroove to experimental sounds, it had its own energy.

And a big part of that was the collectives that made it what it was — @vbx.nu , @lasterclub , @thegangisbeautiful , @soundcora … all bringing their own crowd and vibe into the space.

But it wasn’t just about the music. It actually felt intentional — a space where people could feel safe, included, and part of something. Now it’s closing, and with fewer 24h spaces and more pressure on independent venues… it does make you think.

Is Amsterdam evolving, or are we slowly losing the underground?

Not every party is the same — even if we call all of them a rave.

There’s a difference between a rave, a festival, and a club event. One comes from underground culture, the others from a more commercial scene. Over time, everything got mixed… and the meaning of “rave” started to blur.

Does it really matter? Maybe not. But understanding what a rave really is vs a festival or event is needed.

What do you think — is “rave” still a real definition, or just a label for any electronic party? 👇🏻

*ad. Imagine missing the front row because your ears can’t handle it.
Imagine finally getting to the campsite… but not being able to sleep because everything feels too loud.
Imagine getting home and the music doesn’t stop — even in silence.

Headaches, tinnitus, noise sensitivity… these aren’t rare. And they’re often preventable.

Protecting your hearing isn’t optional — it’s essential.
Stay safe.
