Big sur has one of the darkest skies in cali! This image was made over a period of 40 mins . Sky is mosaic of 2 vertical images of 35mm 150s f3.2 6 shot each . These were stacked and stitched and blended with the bridge which is light by the crescent moon 🌙! Thanks to @kaushiks83 for driving around for the car trails.. .

The next big project is completed!

This image should have been a simple first light for my new camera but it had to be bigger than a casual first light...

M31 with the newly discovered Oiii arc was perfect for this. Since I'm a little bit of a mosaic freak I wanted to take advantage of my already bigger fov with a 2x2 mosaic.

I spent roughly 120hrs on it in LRGB+Ha before a long lasting bad weather period in Spain (where my remote telescope is installed) began.
Oiii was the only thing missing and so I started looking into my options:
1. Waiting for new moon + good weather to gather countless hours of Oiii
2. Looking for help and a collaboration

In the end I decided to reach out to @tkottary and ask him for a collaboration. Luckily he was already collecting tons of data on M31 before I contacted him.
He contributed all the data from his Takahashi FSQ106 to my dataset which includes LRGBHaOiii!
The combined exposure time reached over 270hrs!!!

We are very happy with the result but for my side I'm a bit surprised how little details are visible in the Oiii arc compared to the original image from the SDSO 1 Team..
