Here’s a classic Dirty Rice recipe, a flavorful Cajun dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and spices. It’s called “dirty” because the rice takes on a brownish color from the meat and seasonings.

⸻

Dirty Rice Recipe (Cajun Style)

Ingredients (Serves 4-6):
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter
1/2 pound ground beef or chicken livers (traditional)
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper mix (optional for heat)
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
• 2 cups cooked white rice
• Green onions, sliced (for garnish, optional)
