Sending out light and love in this chaotic world - but dang humans are really f*cking things up.
(All hand-cut collage because it’s more satisfying)

Childhood -
A work in progress.

No glue, yet. Need to sit with this one a while.

Posting to say I am in the process of scanning, matting, framing a number of my collages for my upcoming debut at Coffeeshop NE! Also navigating building a website, printing, and even businessy stuff I know next-to-nothing about! It’s all cray-cray at my house but it gosh darn feels so right. Thank you for the encouragement, friends. Now we’ll see if people will want to buy these.

Protectors of the Hive

Really guys. We need to protect our pollinators.

All hand cut from a variety of vintage magazines and discarded books.

Marlene Doesn’t Have Time for this Nazi Bullshit.

She was a marvel.
Mad respect for this woman.

Collage with two portraits from two discarded books.

A tiny moment to notice some of the color in our Minneapolis backyard - all planted in honor of our dear Jada. She would have LOVED it - probably would have laid down in the middle of it all to watch the leaves fall down upon her.
She was a true nature girl.
I miss her so much, my heart hurts.

Are you having any fun?

Here’s where it’s at now - still not quite done but getting there. Getting more comfortable with gesso and gel medium, but I still have a lot more to learn. This needs something in the bottom third - the gesso covered up the color/cutouts more than I was expecting.

Open to thoughts/critiques.

You’re it.

Very much a work in progress. Using better gluing for the base (on an inside book cover). The characters aren’t glued yet - need something else in the background - but I love the look on the kids’ faces. Something is going down.

Analog collage from discarded materials and acrylic paint (so far)

After listening to each single drop in anticipation, I was finally able to go pick up Caroline Rose’s new album, Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall.
Honestly bringing me a lil sunshine through the hellscape leading up to the elections. Perfect album to release some rage while ruminating over past regrets. Hot diggity dog.
Get you some, as the kids say.

So I guess war profiteering is cool now.
They never needed to raise the prices at the pump - it’s all about profit at our expense. Capitalism is bleeding us dry. by @tmoore_studio

She Felt the Light Go Out of Her Eyes

I know how it feels.

A lil stop motion with an analog collage, featuring Kathryn Hepburn from a 1930 photo shoot. Wild that someone did not want to keep this book, right?
Song is by Caroline Rose’s new kick ass album.

Trust Us, We’ve Got It All Figured Out.

Work in progress, analog collage from five discarded books and magazines.

Checked into my hotel in Boston (doing a workshop thing for PBS SRL) and instead of a bible they have this - The Little Prince (Zack’s favorite book). We read the book together when he was a lil guy, and this passage was read at his memorial service. I see wisps of memories of him wherever I go even 22 years after he’s gone.
He’s never really gone.

Right as I was tearing up, I opened up a cabinet door and discovered pic #3! Tears of grief and joy for many reasons right now.
.
Maybe take time to laugh with the stars tonight, friends. And you might hear them laugh with you.
