This summer I set out on an ambitious project: making all my own clothes. Looking around there were several reasons for it--price, quality, wanting to slow down and be more present, not finding exactly what I wanted--but it really boiled down to one sentiment. I wanted to be my most ME. I already knit, but I decided to sit down at a sewing machine for the first time in almost 20 years.

Four projects in, I think I'm confident enough to share the rest of my summer making plans. I have a different knitting list, but for sewing....here it is!

What are you making this summer? Or...what are you most excited for me to make? I have favorites...but I can't wait to make them all!

I'm so excited to try my hand at JEANS! Going for the McCalls 8531 pants in this gorgeous white corsage denim. (And making a matching jacket down the road!)

The #elvispants from @ready_to_sew in this striped linen are actually next on my list.

I basically live in skirts and dresses. The #blakeskirt in both pleated and flat front in the mini view is exactly what I want for summer and always. I have a few cotton poplin prints and a pink denim picked out for these.

My love for the #celineblouse by Silver Saga Patterns knows no bounds. I've made two views already and have plans for two more in solid cotton poplin.

I found this baby doll top pattern with a shirred back, and I knew i had to try it. My millennial heart has to make it in a pink gingham! And possibly my leftover linen from my maxi skirt?

I live in dresses. But I own one dress that fits. I made another but I NEED OPTIONS. It needs to be easy to throw on and go and easy to wash. This poplin print was PERFECT and ive been dying for a simple dress like this.

I found this pattern when Simplicity listed it as a Damsen Madder dupe and I havent stopped thinking about it. This leopard print denim is exactly what I envision for a Midwest summer and fall and basically every season.

The #elladress by Silver Saga Patterns is iconic and it was an absolute must for my wardrobe. This is coming next week. When I found this Fabric Godmother linen viscose blend fabric at Open S by @tmsorenson

Spent the last year ripping my life apart and rebuilding.

And I've never been happier.

Thirty six things I've embraced this year, that made all the difference:

Take the crazy leap. Do it without a (fully fledged) plan. Let life fall (apart) together. Fail. Try again. Find out who's really in your corner. Walk away from what doesn't serve you. Love what you love, unashamedly.

Sometimes, the scariest part is what happens next. Take a break. Take another. Pick up the old hobby. Go for the run. Lead with kindness. Always smile.

Choose what matters to you. Boba and coffee aren't food. Happiness is hard. Cats make everything better. Let your child know you choose them and their happiness. Depression is a physical weight.

Try the new thing. Gaslight yourself, they'll call it confidence. Choose empathy, even when you don't relate. Always pick pink. Make the bed. Get dressed to stay home. You can't choose what enters your mind, but you can choose what you give space.

No one cares more than you. Dream. Ask the crazy question. Go to the concert. Say no. Sometimes, where you are makes all the difference. You're not too loud, too needy, too smart, too nerdy, too feminine, too bubbly, too MUCH for the right people.

No one will ever love you more than you love yourself.

My Dearest Taylor,

I moved across the country for more mornings just like this.

D is sleeping in. I'm snuggled on my patio drinking coffee and taking a slow start to my day. I have dreams and plans and goals (and so much laundry), but right now I just want more moments like this.

Quiet. Soft. Slow.

It's better than we ever imagined. And we're not done yet.
