I couldn’t be more delighted to celebrate this special lady today on her 81st birthday! God has carried her through some incredibly difficult times over the past two years, and we feel so blessed to still have her with us.

She has been the rock of our family and a faithful voice pointing us to Jesus through all these years. We love her deeply and are so grateful for the gift of her life.

“A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise…” — Proverbs 31:30–31

AMERICA THROUGH FRESH EYES

As many of you know, our country is hosting the FIFA World Cup. Held every four years, it brings people from around the globe together through the game of soccer. (Go USA!) It’s been encouraging to watch the many viral videos of first-time visitors experiencing America. Through their eyes, our nation is an amazing place. They’re struck by the kindness and authenticity of our people, amazed by the supersized stadiums, gas stations (can you say Buc-ee’s), and oversized pickup trucks. They are also captivated by the beauty and abundance they encounter as they travel across our country.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday today, I pray that we, too, see our nation through fresh eyes. It’s easy to let the negativity of the news and our polarized political climate cloud our perspective and cause us to overlook the goodness and grandeur of this nation that God has so richly blessed. Yes, our country has real challenges, but let’s not lose sight of the many blessings we enjoy. We have so much to be grateful for and countless reasons to praise Him.

As we celebrate, may we also remember the words of the psalmist: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” (Psalm 33:12). Happy 4th of July! by @tncsteve

Celebrating that my mother was released from the hospital and made it home in time for dinner last night. (For MTZ peeps, yes that’s La Gondola’s .😀) We feel so blessed and unbelievably grateful for your prayers. God’s purposes for her life are alive and well! by @tncsteve

I want to thank you all for your continued prayers for my mother, Lana Davis. She continues to heal and recover at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis from her open heart surgery on Monday, December 22, for an aorta dissection. (Tear in her aorta).

At first, she took baby steps in her recovery , but she is making strides and we are praying for renewed strength, clear lungs (procedure for clearing went well yesterday) and no setbacks so that she can make progress with her OT and PT. Praying that she may go to rehab or home in the next several days.

It’s good to see her smile and eat. Grateful for the many who have texted and reached out and for all your prayers. by @tncsteve

They say you can go faster alone, but further together. Today I’m thanking God for the people who helped us go further.

When we started this church planting journey as a family of five, we had limited resources but a clear vision: Making the invisible God visible.

God provided exactly what we needed to make that vision a reality. A huge part of that provision was @truenorthchurch . We are so grateful to our original launching team the group of people who believed in us early on and helped build this foundation. You were the tool God used to get us off the ground.

To Pastor @tncsteve and the Davis family: Thank you. Thank you for believing in us, for launching us, and for being true friends over the last decade. This picture represents the start, but your friendship and support have helped sustain the journey. 🙏❤️

Dicen que se puede ir más rápido solo, pero llegas más lejos acompañado. Hoy doy gracias a Dios por las personas que nos ayudaron a llegar más lejos.

Cuando comenzamos este proyecto de plantar una iglesia @visibleaugusta como familia de cinco, teníamos recursos limitados, pero una visión clara: hacer visible al Dios invisible.

Dios proveyó exactamente lo que necesitábamos para hacer realidad esa visión. Una parte fundamental de esa provisión fue @truenorthchurch. Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestro equipo de lanzamiento, el grupo de personas que creyeron en nosotros desde el principio y ayudaron a construir esta base. Ustedes fueron el instrumento que Dios usó para que pudiéramos empezar.
