Tennessee hospitality. A shared love of golf. A century worth celebrating. ⛳️🤝

Paul Carter, superintendent at The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay and current president of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, recently welcomed the GCSAA National Board to Nashville. TGF President Whit Turnbow and Board Chairman Jim Seabury helped make the gathering even more memorable with a surprise visit from Vince Gill!

Vince’s contributions to golf are also celebrated at GCSAA’s renovated Centennial Plaza, where his name appears among recipients of the Old Tom Morris Award. He received the honor in 2022 in recognition of his lifelong commitment to advancing and benefiting the game.

As GCSAA celebrates 100 years, we’re proud to see Paul leading the association and representing Tennessee golf on the national stage. Thank you, Paul, for your dedication to the game and the people who make it possible! taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @tngolffnd

Sheriff 🤝🏽 Mayor

@sheriffturnbow spends 60 seconds with Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland to talk about the incredible growth of youth golf at Bloomfield Links through the Scott Stallings Kids Play Free program. ⛳️

Thanks to fundraisers like the Mayor’s Invitational, which Shane hosted Monday at Old Fort, kids can enjoy unlimited, complimentary golf at Bloomfield Links, opening the door for more young players to discover the game and fall in love with it. taken in Old Fort Golf Club by @tngolffnd

Golf is a game for everyone, and we’re proud to help open the door to more people in our community. ⛳️

Our instructors at Golf House of Tennessee have partnered with BrightStone, a local organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), to create opportunities to learn, play and connect through golf.

The partnership is part of a pilot program between the Tennessee Golf Foundation and the Els for Autism Foundation, designed to make the game more accessible to people who might otherwise have limited opportunities to participate.

Last year, TGF instructors Collin Jones, Gaylon Cude and Hank Curtis joined other TGF staff members at the Els for Autism campus for a training retreat to help bring this program to life in Tennessee. They’re now putting that training into practice with BrightStone participants, creating a welcoming, encouraging environment to discover the game.

As the pilot program develops, other TGF regions across the state will look to introduce similar programming, bringing these opportunities to more communities throughout Tennessee.

Beyond learning to swing a club, this program is about building confidence, making friends and experiencing the joy of trying something new. We’re grateful to BrightStone and the Els for Autism Foundation for helping us grow the game and share all that golf has to offer. taken in Golf House Tennessee Learning Center by @tngolffnd

The City of Memphis and Tennessee Golf Foundation have officially broken ground on the new Loren Roberts Family Clubhouse and Learning Center at The Links at Audubon, creating a permanent home for First Tee Tennessee - Memphis.

The project brings together a $7.5 million investment from the City of Memphis with incredible private support, including $1 million commitments from FedEx, the Brad Martin family, Bill and Amy Rhodes, and First Horizon Bank/First Horizon Foundation.

In another special moment, 69 players from the FedEx St. Jude Championship contributed to the Loren Roberts Scholarship Fund.

More than a clubhouse, this new facility will expand opportunities for Memphis youth through golf, mentorship, life skills, financial literacy and access to the game for generations to come.

Construction begins now with an anticipated opening in fall 2027. 🔗 You can see more about the project at DrivingOurFuture.org or at the link in our bio!

“For that is the future that we are here to build.”

TGF President Whit Turnbow shared his vision at today’s groundbreaking for the Loren Roberts Family Clubhouse and Learning Center: families enjoying lunch after a round, grandparents passing down pointers on the practice green, and a child discovering golf for the first time.

A child who might arrive unsure if the game is for them, and leave with a new skill, newfound confidence, a new friend and the feeling that they belong. ⛳ taken in The Links At Audubon by @tngolffnd
