Officially welcoming home my 2000 Lotus Elise Motorsport 🏁 It’s been about a month now and the number one question I’m asked is “what even is this?” Which is valid, because I too have never seen another.

A factory total of 65 were built and only 10 were brought into the US, this is chassis number 42.

Sold new to a collector in Oregon who had Scholar Engines build the numbers matching 1.8 K Series to Evo4 Spec, fitted it to an ‘ultra close ratio’ 5spd straight cut gearbox, then finished off with magnesium Speedline wheels.

This car weighs just over 1,570lbs and made about 220hp on dyno, making the driving experience second to none.

No need for 500hp when the car doesn’t weigh 5k lbs like modern cars.

The Elise made its way from Oregon to Connecticut in 2018 where it was looked after by a former client and mentor, Mark Starr (Hunting Ridge Motors).

I saw it for the first time in 2020 when I walked into Mark’s warehouse, had no clue what it was but I was hooked.

Since that very moment, I knew I had to have it one day.

I’d get to take it out on random occasion, even ran out of gas one time in it a few years ago.

Fast forward over six years later, and here we are. Very surreal. by @tnisc

The Maserati MC12 is one of the greatest automotive designs of all time (and a personal favorite). A homologation special with only 50 road-going units produced, it’s a race car for the road. Significantly rarer than an Enzo and outperformed it on track.
