It’s probably been over a decade since I last visited Bondi Beach. I’ve always been a Ferry to Manly or Drive to Coogee beach goer, but it was time to change it up a bit and take the Bus out to Bondi to visit this years Sculptures by the Sea. Bondi definitely has a strong summer beach vibe haha, but I kinda don’t want to imagine how busy it would be once the actual height of Summer hits! Been watching a few colour theory videos for editing and am trying some heavier handed colour grading than I would usually do. How does it look? Did I go too far with the Saturation? #bondibeach #sculturesbythesea #x100vi #sydney by @toanscamerabag
Was a lovely day yesterday at @flourmillmarkets 🙌🏼 @ponyos.life invited me to join her on her usual visit to the Summer Hill based Markets, and boy did we have a feast haha. There was Viet Calzone by @mr.maisvietfood, coffee from @headlandscoffee , pastel de nata from @sweetbelem , and pastries from @tittynope_bakery who had a pop up near by. Having foodie friends is such a joy haha. Thank you for the lovely time and company Winnie! #flourmillmarkets #Sydneyfoodie #SydneyFoodVlog #x100vi by @toanscamerabag
Cabramatta Moon Festival last Sunday was definitely a good vibe. It was a beautiful day out in the sun despite the heat! I’ll have to stick around longer next time for all the lion dancing and fireworks 🙌🏼 I used to avoid taking photos during the midday day sun, but gosh, new camera technology really does handle the contrast like a dream. Shooting bright sunny days on my x100vi has definitely become a new favourite combo! #cabramatta #moonfestival #x100vi #fujifilmaus by @toanscamerabag
I have no idea where I got this roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 haha but I found it in the fridge and thought I’d shoot it. Was a lovely day cafe hopping around town with @kylos_spillz where we ended up at Double Bay for a cafe there. It’s always a fun Sydney adventure in the sun when a Sydney Ferry ride is involved. Expired Kodak Ultramax 400 | Nikon F3 + 24mm 2.8 AiS #expiredfilm #nikonF3 #ultramax400 #sydneyadventures #doublebay by @toanscamerabag
I think im addicted to shooting film now… What to do on a Saturday with trackwork and morning storm? Well first is to wake up and go to Seeker and have a coffee of course. And then go shoot some film in Cabra 🙌🏼 When I was last filming Cabramatta for the Moon Festival, I was honestly surprised by how lovely all the green trees down John St are in bright sunlight. So when I had a half roll of Pro400H I had been wanting to test before a family photoshoot, I thought it would be cool to capture those trees on film. Unfortunately I didnt get too many great shots. John St is a lot harder to shoot when the road isn’t closed for the market haha. I wonder if a lot of my shots would have looked better in the midday day sun than the 4pm sun… but these are what I got anyways 🙌🏼 I should really visit more of my local Neighbourhoods when photographing. I’ve been wanting to properly test out the Pro400H for a decade now, making sure I knew how to expose it well, and what latitude it would be able to handle. Gone are the days it was readily available, and being preferred by few renown wedding photographers for its creaminess when overexposed. Still not sure what is best for this film, but it definitely went better than the first recent roll of it I shot haha 😅 Expired Fujicolor Pro400H (bought in 2013) | Canon EOS 3 + 24mm 1.4L #cabramatta #expiredfilm #pro400h #fujifrontier #sp3000 by @toanscamerabag

Expired Ektar 100 (bought in 2013) | Nikon F3 + 28mm f2.8 Ai-S Shooting in bright sunlight, esp on film, has quickly become my new favourite light. Add on beaches, waves, and rock pools, and it’s such a lovely combination for such a saturated roll of film. I think I need to do a few more beach to coastal walks! 🌞🌊😍 #nikonf3 #manlybeach #sydneyfilmphotography #expiredfilm #ektar100 by @toanscamerabag
Expired Kodak Portra 400 (bought in 2011) | Nikon F3 + Nikkor 28mm 2.8 Ai-S Trying a new exposure rule to better capture daylit scenes whilst keeping the blue saturation in the sky. I sometimes wonder what’s more important, shadow detail or the blue in the sky? I feel like I got a decent balance with this exposure setting 🙌🏼 All shots but the last were shot at 1/250 - f8 on expired Portra 400 for those who are interested. Flat scanned on a Fujifilm Frontier SP3000 with wb/blacks adjusted in post. #expiredfilm #filmphotography #nikonf3 #Sydney #portra400 by @toanscamerabag
Expired Portra 400vc | Canon AE-1P + 50mm 1.4 FD From a photo walk from Carlton to Cremorne, back when I visited Melbourne. I was wanting to try a Melbourne based Film Lab, and since was in Melbourne earlier this year, I took the opportunity to try them out. Really enjoyed the files from the Fujitsu, but I still need to work out how to properly expose expired film, more interesting subjects, and what sort of light I should look out for when shooting. 🤔 #expiredfilm #canonae1p #ikigaifilmlab #portra400vc by @toanscamerabag
The third and final of my Sydney Videography Walk series. Of trying to get out and shoot more than just my coffees and cafes haha. The aim of the series was to continue to become more familiar with my new cameras, learn how to shoot and compose more video work, and to become more comfortable colour grading and editing in Da Vinci Resolve. I’m slowly getting there I think! But still so much to learn! Now I just need more interesting stories to tell 🤔 or more people to be in front of my camera 🤔🤔🤔 #sydneyvlog #barangaroo #fujifilmx100vi #x100vi #sydney by @toanscamerabag
When was the last time you walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge? I love Sydney. Such a lovely city to live near. I really enjoyed my recent Saturday Mornjng Walk, cafe hopping along the way, DJI Osmo Pocket in hand. Already itching for the next photo walk already 😪 is it the weekend yet??? Shooting on the osmo pocket 4 definitely feels weird. The gimbal and the tiny screen is such a disconnected experience, but the results are so smooth, clean, and crisp haha. #sydney #dji #osmopocket4 #sydneyvlog #kirribillimarkets by @toanscamerabag
Shooting video on the Fujifilm x100vi has been such a joy. It’s so nice to be able to carry this little camera in my jacket pocket on a morning adventure. I’ve been spending the last 6 months trying to learn how to shoot and colour grade videos again in my free time, and I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere! Still a lot to learn. I need to find more stories to tell and find better ways to tell that story 🙌🏼 #fujifilm #x100vi #sydney #algorithmcafe #càphêmai by @toanscamerabag
