Massive thank you to every single person who’s helped me on this journey. I am so beyond grateful for every ridiculously talented actor who has been willing to trust me with their craft. I am also so fortunate to have the most talented people willing to work on crew and help bring these projects to life, and whom I would not be able to make any of these without all their hard work! I am especially thankful for @taurenbrown and @sbmusacchio for their incredible camera work on these films, bringing these stories to life with such beautiful imagery. Cheers to everyone, and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store for 2026!!! taken in San Diego, California by @tobin_carter

Today I got to meet the incredible cast of the show that changed (and saved) my life. The 100 was there for me in a dark time and helped me realize I wanted to pursue storytelling in TV and film. The cast was all absolutely incredible and I’m so grateful for all of them. The best cast for the best show.

I’ve never been this emotional after meeting a celebrity, but @alyciajasmin is a special kind of people. Her acting has brought me from my darkest moments. She saved my life. I can’t believe I met THE Lexa kom Trikru, last true Commander of The 100

Actor or crew? 🎬 Which would you choose?

We caught up with Tobin Carter at the Catalina Film Festival for a conversation about filmmaking, working on set, and what makes being part of a film so much fun.

🎥 Actors. Crew. Filmmakers. Everyone has a story.

Would you rather be in front of the camera or behind the scenes? 👇

Catalina Film Festival 2026 ✨

It was such an honor to have both “For One Night Only” and “Nondecomposable” as part of such an incredible line up of films! “For One Night Only” was in the in person screening, and “Nondecomposable” was part of the online festival! The weekend was absolutely incredible, and it was such an honor to be part of a festival crafted with so much care. @catalinafilm you guys are all on another level!

To every artist and filmmaker we met on the island: thank you so much for sharing your talents, and also your kindness. Everyone in our group kept talking about how not only was everyone phenomenally talented, but genuinely some of the kindest people we’ve met at a festival! I have no doubt you are all going to accomplish incredible things.

I’m also beyond grateful to the teams from both films for making the trip out to Catalina to support! You all are incredible artists, and getting to work with you is already something I am endlessly grateful for. Getting to spend a weekend traveling and enjoying art together? Our friendships are all amongst the most cherished to me. My respect, admiration, and adoration for you all is unparalleled 🫂 taken in Avalon, Catalina Island, California by @tobin_carter

That’s a wrap on “Mercy” (2026) 🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️

If you know me, you know that Post Apocalyptic is far and away my favorite genre, and it’s always been a dream of mine to make projects in those worlds. I’ve had the opportunity once before in my thesis film “Alone Together” and have been chomping at the bit to try my hand at it once again. Mercy however was a unique challenge, requiring six principle actors, over forty extras, and some of the most complicated shots and sets I’ve ever written. It is humbling to know that this film is only possible because of all the talent that trusted me and my vision, and were willing to be part of the journey.

We had over 40 extras playing zombies. Thank you to EVERYONE who was willing to come out, invite people, and spend the day in full make up and costume as we worked through different groups coverage.

To my crew: I want you all to know that I saw every bit of work you put into bringing this world to life. Every detail on camera, in the costumes, the make up, the sound, was so intentional, and it is humbling to me to have artists of your magnitude willing to help bring this world to life. I am honored not only to call you my peers, but my friends. Please know my gratitude is endless.

To my cast: I know how talented you all are, and words cannot begin to describe my gratitude that a group of actors as talented as you all be willing to offer your talents and craft to this film. Every character felt so daunting for me to try to cast, with so many nuances I saw in my head but wasn’t sure how I could find someone who could take on so much. Not only did you meet my every desire, you surpassed my wildest dreams and made each of the characters your own. This film would not be what it is without you all.

Can’t wait to share with everyone! This one feels truly special. taken in C-Me Ranch by @tobin_carter

Had the honor of getting the gang back together and representing our film “For One Night Only” at the 2026 Indiewood Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theater! Could not have been more grateful to walk the red carpet with this incredible team and phenomenal creatives! Having the opportunity to screen the film at such a significant staple of the film world, with some of the most talented filmmakers I know, was simultaneously surreal and a dream come true! taken in TCL Chinese Theatres by @tobin_carter

Had the best time getting to explore Amsterdam with my incredible momma 🫂 I’ve grown up reading about Amsterdam, the canals, the history, the culture (and the Stroopwafels 🤤) and it was so surreal to finally be able to be there in person. I also rediscovered my love for photography while we were, so enjoy this little photo dump. These past few months, in my personal life, I’ve been struggling deeply, hollowed out and ravaged, and this trip felt like an opportunity to breathe for the first time in a while. Definitely a trip I needed, and can’t wait to have the opportunity to go back.

That’s a wrap on Broken But Still Whole!!! Absolutely surreal to say that I’ve been able to direct TEN (10?!?!?) short films now, and I couldn’t have imagined a better team to help me get here! So many talented people both in front and behind the camera made the trip out to Tahoe, and we were able to film something truly special! This is such a personal story for me, exploring disability and chronic pain, and the way it can change relationships, and I wouldn’t have been able to make it without this incredible team. Cannot wait to share more soon 🫂
