Approximately this buzzing to DJ with the boss @janefitzislost at my favourite club last night.

Thanks so much Jane, and everyone who came out. It felt like a proper send off. Magical stuff ❤️ by @toby__nicholas

I’ve been thinking about the Japanese word Kodawari.

It means ‘an uncompromising devotion to doing what you love’. It’s the pursuit of perfection for its own sake. Caring less about how your work is perceived, than the soul you put into its process.

You feel Kodawari in your bones in Japan. The soulfulness of their culture, and deep appreciation for what life’s all about- music, food, art- it can’t help but affect you. Even after 2 weeks, I feel changed by the experience. In my 35th year, at the end of a difficult 6 months, it’s surely the most meaningful trip of my life.

Maybe it’s not surprising. People close to me & Josh know about our family’s connection to Japan. I even found out on this trip that I was conceived in Tokyo. In a funny way it does feel like home.

There’s other reasons too. Sharing the trip with 2 of my best mates. But also travelling solo, and doing things I wouldn’t normally dare to do. Becoming an uncle to Santi-chan, and feeling something in me I’d begun to wonder existed. Travelling for travelling’s sake, not just DJing and flying home the next day.

And not least, kicking a hash habit (out of necessity) which had become unhealthy, and fogged my brain in ways that affected who I really am.

Thankful to @hertz.sound, @querico_tokyo, @redbar_2003, @room303radio, and all the sweet people I met along the way. by @toby__nicholas

Our closing set from this year’s Dimensions is now online 🩵

For our first time at the Olive Grove, it felt good playing some deeper, more banging sounds. Thanks everyone who stayed with us until the end.

Introducing Grace Sands & Toby.

Last November our first Brama was brought to a close with a stunning set from @justgrace7 - a year later she returns to our wooden booth for a debut b2b with fellow house music obsessive Toby.

As an artist Grace personifies both our longing for all things deep and sexy, and our appreciation for the lineage of the music we love. Founder of legendary collective DiY Sound System, to us Grace is the final word in UK house music. She’s as vital an artist today as 35 years ago.

Grace plays b2b with our co-founder and El Tío himself, @toby__nicholas You’ll know him from spinning with his main squeeze @hamish__cole But Toby prides himself on adapting to play with anyone - a b2b specialist, who relishes planning each gig according to his partner and their context. He’s a massive DiY nerd, too.

Grace & Toby shut down our Halloween party. Expect sexy end of the night tunes.

A very special party awaits on 31st October 👻✨ by @toby__nicholas

Our Hamish & Toby 💕 We’ve never seen Olive Grove rocking quite that much from start to finish. by @toby__nicholas

@houghtonfestival ❤️‍🔥 thanks to everyone who came down to our sets, and to @kostaxdb for a very special Saturday sunrise session at Stallions. It really doesn’t get much better.

Big thanks as always to Craig, Amanda, Flo, Bobby and the whole team for another beautiful edition.

Until next year.. x by @toby__nicholas

Another spin around mighty @houghtonfestival.

We’re particularly grateful for our set times this year. The Friday curtain raiser we know so well. And a very special Saturday sunrise in Stallions b2b @kostaxdb. After Grace, before Jane & Paquita.

Lucky boys. See you in a couple weeks ♡ by @toby__nicholas

Sometimes our job is the most joyful thing.

So it was at @woodstock_newage last weekend. I was lucky to spend a few days there before we played, soaking up the vibe and hanging with Tunisian mates new and old.

Since people come back year on year, and all stay in the same hotel, it feels somewhere between a cosy festival, and an adult summer camp. When you’re with a regular, they can’t walk 5 steps without bumping into someone they know.

We closed the party, as a rainy night turned into the most beautiful morning. It’s always a pleasure playing to Tunisian people, but this felt very special. In the end, it was 5 of the most dreamy hours i can ever remember behind a pair of decks.

Thanks for having us, and to all the lovely people i met across the weekend - we’ll see you again soon ♡ by @toby__nicholas

031 - Hamish & Toby B2B XDB - Recorded live from fabric

A special 1 hour, 20 minute excerpt from the final part of their B2B closing set in Room 3 at our March Continuum.

“Find us a dreamier Sunday than playing b2b with Kosta in Room 3. It felt special to close Continuum together in that cosy little room - it really feels like home to us these days. Only our second time spinning together, but definitely not the last...” - H&T

Three artists who truly embody the fabric ethos. Now live on our SoundCloud for your listening pleasure. by @toby__nicholas
