Storyboard frames vs final shots from a @realmadrid spot. Other shots drastically evolved through the collaborative filmmaking process, but there’s something satisfying about comparing these ones that came out the other end almost exactly as originally envisioned.

I directed this short film during the pandemic with @steptstudios and @whirlowparkpictures. It’s a story about an American woman who, amid rising tensions between the U.S. and China, struggles to maintain a long-distance relationship with her Chinese boyfriend. We shot remotely in New York and Shanghai, with the rest of the team Zooming in from across the U.S., U.K., China and South Africa. The idea was to humanize some geopolitical issues, experiment with how far we could push the “screenlife” format, and to stay creative last year during covid. I’m excited for the film to kick off its festival run in June at @deadcenterfilm! Big shoutout to everyone involved, but especially my partner in crime @carofromthecoast, vfx/editing wizard @zmerzliquor who built the entire world of this film in post, and @steptstudios who made it all possible. by @tobywosskow

Grateful for the Glen and Bobbie Ceiley Foundation who have been incredibly supportive of my filmmaking ventures, and most recently asked @carofromthecoast and I to tell this story with them. It's a PSA in partnership with @hsiglobal that will run on board all @vietnamairlines flights for six months - with the goal of curbing rhino horn demand and ultimately protecting rhinos on the African continent 🦏 by @tobywosskow

Turning 27 today. Gifts don’t get better than this - a framed collage of the films that have most inspired me. Thank you to one of my best buds, creative partner, and definitely not someone I’m romantically involved with (shhh!!). Also, the first film we wrote together is currently in post, with many more to come. Lucky to have found you before Hollywood did @carofromthecoast! by @tobywosskow

Rhino village, 6 hours off any paved road in rural Uganda. Having once poached the country’s rhino to extinction, this community is now committed to protecting the species when it is soon reintroduced. In our meeting, the elder on my right admitted that he used to be a poacher but has changed his ways. And the man on my left gave me a gift - a local fruit the rhino used to eat back when they roamed freely next to the village. Surreal that this film continues to have real impact. Thanks @shabansenyange and @statedept for bringing @sidesofahorn to Uganda - an incredible adventure.

Got hit with torrential downpour while driving through rural Uganda tonight. We pulled over in a random village to wait for the rain to clear and met this friendly man named Samiri Azabo. He offered his protection and stood guard by our van with a traditional African bow and arrow. taken in Migera, Luwero, Uganda by @tobywosskow
