Calling in a very small but extremely competent voting committee: you. 😜

A dear friend of mine and his little daughter are taking part in a karaoke voting, and their performance genuinely deserves some love. If you have a moment, please open the link below and give them a vote.

No pressure, no spammy campaign promises. Just a dad-and-daughter karaoke team trying to win the internet for a minute. 🎤✨ Thanks guys!

Yesterday I took a short trip to the Czech Republic with a friend to visit the Furch factory showroom.
Thank you @furchguitars for this amazing exclusive showroom experience. It was an absolute blast and it really helped me get closer to finding the model which suits me best. The museum part of the store was especially interesting and Lukas did a great job at explaining us everything from the history of the company to the current guitar model line-up!

Madeira day 14 - are two hikes on the last day on this island a bit too much for us? Probably they are. But we did them anyway and we're so happy about our decision! After the always annoying search for a parking space we headed out to the summit of Pico Ruivo, the highest peak of the Madeira archipelago at 1862 meters. Then we drove to the Encumeada to do a shorter and easier hike through the magical Laurisilva forests there - without any other people around us this one was so relaxing and peaceful. To properly celebrate the final day of this vacation, we went to Restaurante La Parreira to once more enjoy their famous pineapple+cinnamon espetadas and to Peter's Poncha bar for two last Ponchas. Muito obrigado por tudo, Madeira!

Madeira day 13 - we started the day by meeting up with my wonderful colleague @johanna_ta_ and her lovely bf at Fajã dos Padres where we had a really nice and relaxing time together (although the cable car that goes down 300m in under two minutes was quite exciting). After that, we checked out the Banana Museum of Madeira (BAM) @museudabananadamadeira in Ponta do Sol which provided really interesting insights into the history of banana cultivation and current cultivation methods on the island. Because we were already kinda close, we went to check out the Ribeira Brava valley leading up to the Encumeada.

Madeira day 12 - we started the day with visiting the birds (and fish!) at Ilha das Aves (@ilhadasaves ) in Campanario. After that, we drove up to the mountains to do the PR6 hike ("Levada das 25 Fontes"). A beautiful hike with lots of impressive landscape and miracles of engineering to see but again, quite crowded. Back home at our apartment it was time to check out that barbecue on the roof terrace: we prepared ourselves very tasty Alheira sausages (veggie + venison).

Madeira day 11 - time to explore the Western coast of this island! On the way there we walked along two of the "Rota do Banana" routes which were short but very interesting. Crazy beautiful and breathtaking views at Miradouro da Garganta Funda, the westernmost point of Madeira. Awesome coffee at the @gatolegalcoffeeroastery ! On the way back, we had an evening stroll through Ribeira Brava. An exciting, but at the same time very relaxing day!

Madeira day 10 - from the thatched cottages in Santana to the trees seemingly dancing in the mists of Fanal, this island has it all! Today we explored the beautiful northern coast of the island and celebrated the end of an exciting day with an adrenaline rush at the giant swing near Porto Moniz (@adrenaline_madeira ). What a day, what a day.
Oh, and awesome grilled meat, cheese and pineapple at @laparreira.madeira for dinner!

Madeira day 9 - the day started with a very fun and somehow relaxing cooking class. With the help of Maria we learned how to make bolo de mel (Madeira honey cake)! After that, quick lunch break and a visit at the CR7 museum. We spent most of the afternoon aboard the Santa Maria de Colombo, a replica of Chistopher Columbus' famous ship - it was quite an interesting trip. Before heading back home we took a detour to Curral das Freiras. Encircled by dramatic, almost vertical peaks, this town in a secluded valley was once a refuge for nuns fleeing pirate attacks.

Madeira day 8 - another day, another attempt at hiking. This time with way less other people on the path, what a pleasant change. From the top of Pico de Areeiro all the way down to the Funchal Ecological Park visitor centre, a descent of 750 meters. After the hike we were not quite tired enough, so we drove to Ponta do Sol to explore the little town that lies nestled between dramatic cliffs.

Madeira day 7 - our first hike on Madeira gave us mixed feelings. The nature and the landscape were fascinating, but the amount of people on the trail was staggering. Even though since the beginning of the year you have to book a timeslot online and pay 4,50€ (per person) in advance, there was a queue at the trailhead. In the afternoon we went out with a marine biologist (@madeiraseaemotions ) and 28 other people to see some Pilot whales off the shores of Caniçal, which was a really great experience! Delicious snacks at "Petiscos do Pedro" @petiscosdopedro and Ponchas at "Peter's Poncha" @petersponcha to finish the day.
