I don’t usually post celebrity photos. But Dolly was more than a celebrity. I am pretty damn cynical and I usually roll my eyes yes when people call someone an “icon” or “force” or “superstar” … blah blah blah…but Dolly …even using the word “cynical” in the same paragraph seems incredibly wrong. What a talent. And the energy and exuberance was undeniable. I hope everyone was lucky enough to see her live. It was so exciting and joyous and one of the best performances I have ever seen. Her films, her television appearances and most of all her work at things like children’s reading programs. She gave back so much of her time and money.
