Topps released my Allen & Ginter card two years ago today. Five year old me could never have imagined… by @toddradom
The Milwaukee Brewers' first logo was cribbed from a 1947 Minor League Milwaukee Brewers game program cover. The team's barrelman was originally named "Owgust," and was introduced in 1942 by the Minor League Brewers, who had a 50 year run, starting in 1902. Along the way Milwaukee has hosted a total of four MLB clubs—the 1878 National League Grays, the 1901 American League Brewers, the NL's Braves (1953-1966,) and the current Brewers, who arrived from Seattle in 1970. by @toddradom

Original art and some outtakes from the Milwaukee Brewers 1993 rebrand (for the 1994 season.) Tom Meindel’s beloved ball-in-glove is the club’s forever logo, but this represented a bridge to the new millennium, to Miller Park, and, ultimately, to this moment. Sometimes you have to lose something special in order to realize just how special it is. Some of these sketches were inspired by Milwaukee’s brewing culture—beer labels and signage, vintage letterforms and the like. Like a bunch of teams that rebranded in this era, brighter colors got darker, so royal blue became navy blue. What was bright yellow became metallic gold, which was very *of the moment.* A tertiary color helped make the visual program whole and green—underused in MLB, and a natural nod to Wisconsin’s natural landscape and forests—fit the bill. by @toddradom
Milwaukee Brewers master uniform lettering, 1993. This was the last design job I did via traditional methods, just as digital technology was beginning to really take hold. Hand drawn on tracing paper w/ pencil, I then inked the final art on vellum. I'll be posting more from the rebrand along the way by @toddradom
If anyone needs me next week I’ll be wearing my team-issued 1995 Milwaukee Brewers batting helmet, just in case by @toddradom
