POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Usually when I leave my parents’ place in Mississippi I’m in a hurry to get back. This time I had a chance to explore the city alone. I had never gone to West Jackson to just look around and it was both tragic and amazing to observe block after block after block of condemned houses across the street from dilapidated factories, warehouses, and other centers of industry. It was like driving through a time capsule of what was obviously a bustling, productive city.
We can all become a shell of our past selves if we rest on our laurels and stop bringing new ideas to life for ourselves and others.
Have a blessed Tuesday.

My first time working in a Leo Sullivan film was this small scene in Life Without Hope: A New Chapter. I ended up shooting another film with Leo Sullivan last year called The Gangster’s Daughter, in which I play a larger role. These films would be my 2nd and 4th time being cast/recommended by the wonderful Tammy!
It was also my first time working with the talented and multifaceted Najma Shy, and the beginning of more opportunities there as well (stay tuned).
Anyway, catch my appearance at 1:28:25 but don’t blink! 😂

RE-ENACTMENT: You might find this story worthwhile… (scroll down)
This was SO much fun! I did not anticipate how difficult it is to try to copy the exact motions, expressions, and inflections of another actor’s portrayal of a character, in the same timing. Improv is way easier than this! But anyway, thank you for the opportunity Rory and Tiffani! I had a blast.

Side note: about a month after shooting this I was at a BUSINESS networking event (not a film mixer) and toward the end of the event I was introduced to Cvonzell Dondrico AKA Visionary Filmmaker. Within about 10-12 secs of meeting me here said something along the lines of “What are you doing here? This is not where you’re supposed to be. You need to stop with the business distractions because you belong in front of a camera. You need to get to LA.” Mind you, this man had no idea that I had acted before or that I had a reel, an agent, acting ambitions, etc.
Minutes into the convo, he said “You know what you need to do? If you haven’t seen this movie you need to go home and watch it tonight. And then you need to recreate a scene from “Wolf of Wall Street”.
I grinned a huge grin, not sure that I believed what was happening, and echoing that sentiment I said “You’re not gonna believe this…” and I showed him this clip.
Anyway, it’s great to receive confirmation like that from time to time.
