Hey, long time no see to all of you! I hope you are all doing awesome! It’s been a while since I have posted so I wanted to come back to uploading regularly again because I miss creating things for fun! I have been so swamped with work I forgot what it felt like to create something that brings me joy. I thought, well what better way to come back with the anime/manga that meant so much to me, My Hero Academia!!

I wanted to do a little something to connect me with my following again! So without further ado, I will start with an introduction about me!

Hey everyone, my name is tokii and I am a multifandom artist that enjoys drawing fanart! I sometimes come up with my own ocs and I hope to open up commissions soon so I can gather enough funds for a seeing eye guide dog! I am visually impaired so I was always discouraged from art due to my vision ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ However, now I am so grateful that I never listened to those comments! It gives me an outlet to express myself! I’m working really hard to learn how to speak Japanese (hoping for N5 level by the end of this year!) It’s super lovely to meet all of you (´∀｀=) I am always looking for other artists to be mutuals with so feel free to dm me!

Warmth Felt Through the Eyes and Mind - Oil on Canvas ☕️🎄

Here are some of my favorite pieces I have made for my final portfolio in painting 1! The first two big pieces are very special to me and if you keep reading you will learn why!

During 2017, I had a emergency brain surgery at 15 years old on December 23rd and it was by far the hardest recovery I have ever had out of 11 total surgeries so far in my life. I wanted to tie my brain surgery into a more positive outlook which was one of the best eye surgeries I ever had during 2020. I was born visually impaired and could see 20/200 which means I was legally blind and the piece on the second slide represents my vision before the surgery (hence everything being abstracted). The painting on the first slide represents my vision now 20/70 which is considered low vision! I personally hate the term low vision because I prefer visually impaired as I feel like it stresses the point of my vision loss better. When I came home after the surgery, one of the first things I was amazed at was the fireplace in our living room. I had no idea how textured bricks and wood could be visually and how crisp and vibrant a fire could be. For years I relied on feeling my way through the world (hence the addition of the textured snow on the tree!) 🎄

I hope these paintings resonate with you during this holiday season. It’s very vulnerable for me to share about my disability so please be respectful in the comments! 🎄✨

I’m lucky to be here after everything I have been through these past 22 years and I hope I can keep creating for you all to be inspired 🫶🏼

Any likes, comments and shares are greatly appreciated! 🎁

Enchanted 🍇🔮✨

This is my third oil painting and the final painting for portfolio 2 in my painting 1 class! At first when I was working on this one I wanted to flip my easel because the purple and yellow wanted to keep mixing together 😭 I think it was an okay piece but I like the pumpkin one way better 💜

As always, any likes, comments or shares are super appreciated! 💫
