I gotta get this off my chest tho.

tbh this gig made me wanna quit errythang on the spot but fuck it we ball!!! as a producer/venue it’s so easy to have a wee little bit of compassion and empathy… especially when ur booking Black trans drag king. As y’all prolly know, the tokenism and microagressions (macro atp) I’ve been experiencing have really wrecked my lil neurodivergent nervous system. Somehow still showed up to this gig in the midst of a meltdown in between panic episodes. I communicated the simple accommodations I needed (to perform later in the set) before I arrived and when I showed up. I was told point blank, no second thought, that I must perform when I was scheduled or “you can always cancel 😄” I felt completely disrespected and disregarded. No, “lemme talk to the DJ” no, “let’s see if a manager can help” just a half ass “you should take some deep breaths.” Now if i was a lighter skinned queen with a title would i have been treated as such??? hell fuckin nawwwww! As a producer it is your job to make sure your cast is okay and to encourage them, lift them up, respect them, let them know they belong on that stage!!! and if ya cant, hire a stage manager/kitten/co-producer that can! Instead, I was shown that being the ONLY king and ONLY Black person in the TRANS showcase during PRIDE month on one of Denver’s LARGEST stages didn’t fucking matter bc ya know what, I can always cancel my job I do to survive because I’m experiencing racial trauma induced anxiety!!! does representation matter? idk chat?! quite widderally had to twerk the pain away. stopped shaking and whimpering like a gd chihuahua 15 before I had to change… shit physically hurted… still shook shit crazy style on that stage. FUKUMEAN 🤪 anywho… if you preach “Black Lives Matter” “We love trans folx” “protect your neighbors” maybe you should practice that too 🤷🏾 by @tokyn666

Oakland had me COVERED I tell you! With over 7,500 attendees, @oaklashdrag did they BIG ONE celebrating and prioritizing Drag Kings and BIPOC entertainers mixed with that magical vibe of the Bay Area.

Creating this look, I just wanted to feel like a mf rockstar so Lil Uzi meets Afro Punk meets Scottish cow made PERFECT sense. The wig was originally found balled up in a gd goodwill lookin like a Rachel Dolezal piece 💀 after many mishaps, 4 cans of hairspray, and 2 types of glue, I finally cracked the code to maintaining these curly spikes for all day wear 😭 the leather set was placed by a god in the coolest secondhand shop in ATL and I walked in at the perfect time 🫠 Couldn’t have bodied this without @cam.bam.strawberryjam tho… using loose twisting hair from the local beauty supply, tha Camager ran the hair thru the sewing machine to create tracks and then curled and steamed each weft. HAIR IN THE SEWING MACHINE?! my boo also aquired these gaggy ass boots from facebook marketplace after i kept talking about how much i wanted some 😍🫠 Cherry on top were these custom Flavor Flav inspired nails by lil sis @eris_the_cosmetologist This is ur sign to go to the thrift and make sumn! TODAY.
