Laniakea [ luh-nahy-uh-kee-uh]
Highlight✨

@laniakeatheband noun, astronomy.

𝟭. 𝙖 𝙝𝙪𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙭𝙞𝙚𝙨: 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙮 𝙒𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨.

𝟮. “𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙨”, 𝙃𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙞𝙖𝙣.

✨On 6/14, Laniakea swept us beyond the immense heaven, into the depths of the galaxy — a journey through stars, spirit, and space.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚?

✨With every note, Laniakea asked the unanswerable — and in that sound, we felt the pulse of something greater. Their music held the crowd in breathless silence, a collective moment of awe.

Who could possibly resist the gravity of Laniakea?

This year I've been thinking non-stop about life, death, love, regret, forgiveness, and countless other complicated topics. I've been thinking a lot about my past and trying to find the love in it. I've been trying to let go of the anger and regrets that have shackled me my whole life. I'm proud to say that I'm done looking back with anything but love in my heart, and I hope to live the rest of my life doing the same. 2023 was the hardest year of my 20s, but I'm choosing to bury it with love.

Synth solo on "Elegant People" by Weather Report. This solo took place on December 8th, a date that is very significant to me. It felt cathartic to put so much pain and mourning in to this solo and I really want to thank the rest of the jazz fusion ensemble for sharing this moment with me.
