Tomorrow is my last day at a place I have been for the past 4 years. Should have been 7 months ago, but one thing led to another, and we have what we have now.

In this place, I have learned a lot, and grown in ways I didn't even think possible. But there are some journeys that won't last forever, and I have chosen that this would be one of them where I tap out early.

Four years is a lot of time to commit to an organization.

I had imagined this place would be one of those places that would appear on my resume as having worked with them for 10+ years, maybe even 15, but my desire has increased, and the life I want, I don't picture how it'd be possible staying there for much longer.

So, despite my desire to stay and watch the brand evolve, I need to carve out my own path to more than is being offered.

It's ironic that the place I had thought I would have grown even further as the next phase of my career wasn't able to keep the lights up much longer with me on the inside, however, with whatever little they are working with, I earnestly wish that they have the potential to become.

It's another day to do great things.

Today, I carve out a path to greatness with another step in another direction.

Cheers to greatness.

The more I observe life, the more I realize that almost everything exists within a system.

Whenever I make a decision, I usually have a picture in my mind of how I want things to be. Call that the ideal system.

Then reality begins.

You put boots on the ground and quickly discover that conditions are never perfect.

There are constraints you didn’t anticipate, people you didn’t account for, and variables you cannot control.

Instead of becoming frustrated, I have learned to ask a different question:

“How do I move this system closer to the ideal?”

Perhaps that’s how I’ve come to define success.

Not by achieving perfection, but by reducing the gap between reality and the ideal.

The older I grow, the less interested I become in perfection. I’m more interested in progress. taken in Derby, United Kingdom by @tolugbemiro

One of the things I love to do is travel..

Why?

It forces me to confront a world larger than what I had known before that trip.

It’s not the same thing seeing a place on IG, X or any other place on the internet and experiencing it naturally.

Standing right there, experiencing all that wonder and beauty is truly breathtaking.

Beyond that is the people. Meeting, talking, living and sharing experiences with new people, engaging new ideologies is just truly beautiful and it reveals the complexity of the human nature and the simplicity of our design as well. by @tolugbemiro

I am a big sucker for community and communication.

For the past seven years, I have increasingly come to believe that everybody is a product of a village. My Pastor says it better: “Man is a product of influence.”

Many years ago, I wrote about how perception is shaped by the things happening around us. Today, I think that idea has become even clearer.

People often pride themselves on individualism, but I still remember the primary school definition of the internet: the tool that has turned the world into a global village.

Maybe that definition is truer than we imagined.

Regardless of how independent we claim to be, our thinking is influenced by the people, cultures, books, conversations, and communities around us. Even our most original ideas are often conversations with ideas that came before them.

When I begin to see the world as a village, and people as villagers, I begin to appreciate how interconnected our roles truly are.

Even ideas that challenge the status quo rarely emerge in isolation. They are often shaped by influences from somewhere else. No ideology stands completely independent.

Perhaps this is why lasting change has always been communal. Every great movement started with people who shared an idea, believed in it together, and committed themselves to seeing it through.

If we want to change the world, maybe we need fewer lone heroes and more rooms where people can think together, build together, and pursue a shared vision together.

After all, villages don’t just raise people; they shape the future.

It’s another day to do great things.

My siblings are one of the most strongest influences in my life. Many decisions I have made across the board has been a mirror of what I believed they’d have done in my situation.

Their unique stories and experiences have been a source of inspiration in many ways than they know and I couldn’t be more grateful to be led by them.
