New York 25 🍎🫶

For my own sanity we’re going to pretend as if I’ve posted this as soon as I got back from New York last May and not 11 months later? Looking at my Instagram and realised I’ve not post anything none performing related since my birthday 2 years ago 😍

Queen Mary 2 Cast 14 ✨

So excited to announce that in two weeks I leave for Southampton to start rehearsals for my first Cruise Contract as a Production Dancer onboard Cunards RMS Queen Mary 2 🫶

Not only is this my first cruise contract, but it’s really close to home for me. My mum was an ODP in the Royal Navy before being discharged due to her disabilities. All throughout my childhood she would tell us stories of her time in the Navy and how it was the best days of her life. She was based in Gosport and two years ago we spread her ashes in the Solent as she always wanted, and this is where I eventually took my professional name from. Tom Solent.

Two years later to start my first cruise contract, rehearsing so close to her special place and sailing through the Solent on every cruise we do, it couldn’t be more perfect.

I want to say a massive thank you to my agent Juliet @atomic79agency for not only getting me seen for this opportunity, but supporting me and teaching me through every step since graduation, grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it x

Of course a huge shoutout to @iamkatiekerr and @performerscollege for everything over the last few years and all the opportunities you’ve provided, my career wouldn’t look anything like it does without you x

Ensemble #4 / Neil the trumpeter OVER AND OUT ‼️

Honestly the BEST cast and crew I could’ve asked for, it’s so rare you get the opportunity to spend Christmas with a group of such genuinely lovely, down to earth, supporting and fun people, and I’m so greatful to have done just that this year 🫶

Thank you to Juliet @atomic79agency @crewe.lyceum and @imaginetheatre for such an amazing Christmas time 🫶 taken in Lyceum Theatre (Crewe) by @tom.solent

“Love is a Game” from “The Subtle Art of Feeling” <3

During my final few months at Performers College I created, choreographed, and produced a Creative Project titled “The Subtle Art of Feeling” to go alongside my written dissertation. This project is a 15 minute dance project, exploring the themes and benefits of Music and Dance being used for Emotion Regulation, specifically paying attention to the Non-Verbal Communicative abilities of Music and Dance. Each piece within this project demonstrated the use of Music and Dance to communicate and regulate different emotions, before the finale showcases release, enjoyment, and fun.

This piece “Love is a Game” is the final piece of my documentary, and specifically brings so many emotions to me, it is so wholesome and happy, and it was an incredible piece to end my three years @performerscollege with, and I’m so proud to finally show it to everyone! Over the coming weeks I will be releasing more footage from my other pieces: “Amen” “Cell Block Tango” “Pony Up” “Von Dutch” “Requiem” and “In the Kitchen”.

I spent months piecing this project together, and watching back the final outcome makes me so happy, I am so grateful to be given the time, space, and resources to be able to facilitate such a big project to such a high standard, and I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to all 50 (?!?) dancers who gave up their time to join me in this project.

I hope you enjoy!
