I ducked out of the #redbullhardline course build earlier in the year because I was given the incredible opportunity to design and build some proper jumps in the @maydenabikepark
I put everything I have into everything that I build, but when I get given a chance to compliment such an incredible location and landscape, you can be sure that I’ll be scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to pushing myself to make sure the outcome matches the vision.
On these projects I am truly living the Bukowski quote ‘find what you love and let it kill you’.

Massive thanks to the crew for the grind, for making everything look so good, and for the support when I was doubting myself throughout.

It’s not often you get a chance to work on something as epic as the @redbull #hardline @tasmania course, so when I was given an opportunity to build this section late last year I was absolutely stoked!

I got so stuck in to working that I didn’t make the time to film my build process, but I discovered I had enough phone media to create this little story.

The @redbullau #hardlinetasmania course built at @maydenabikepark was an immense effort by a dedicated group of skilled trail builders. Each builder would have comparable stories to tell of their own section of trail, and these stories are rarely told to the world.
Hopefully this video can shed some light on how much work goes in to pulling off a build of this scale in only three months. My section was only 150m of several kilometres of trail.

THING COMING.
With around five years of professional trail building under my belt now, I’m pretty confident that this is what I’ll be doing as long as I have a body that can pick up tools or operate machines. I have a true passion for what I do, and I’m eager to see where it takes me.
During the @barecreekbikepark build I took what few spare hours I had free to film a little project with the direction and guidance of the mighty @mattstaggsvisuals .
I have always had trouble backing and promoting myself, but the desire to learn all I can in this industry pushed me through that.
What we have ended up with is a portfolio piece that I am super proud of. Couldn’t have done it without ya Matt (obviously)!

Some pictures I never shared from some little free-time builds half a decade ago.

My workload was so huge at this time that I am amazed I had the capacity to build anything else. These pictures stand as a reminder to me that it’s very important to chip away at stuff.
Stacking one rock at a time eventually yields results and looking back I’m proud of the small mountains I’ve moved.

This month’s Trail of the Month: Cruise Control at Twin Peaks Bike Park, Japan’s first free-to-ride community bike park. 🇯🇵

Everyone knows Japan (or Japow, as most call it) for its deep powder, but once the snowpack melts, a completely different side of Niseko comes to life. Buried beneath the 12-15 metres of snow each winter is a rapidly growing trail network that’s putting Japan’s summer riding on the map.
