Hard things...

My friend @kogle_187 first showed me this poem while driving back from a particularly tough job. Here are some of the best lines.

Like many others who work as first responders, emergency services, outdoor instructors and colleagues in the uk and across the pond... I guess everyone I know.
I'm finding myself In the frustration of job hunting, bureaucracy and feeling like you're up against something. Whether it's learning, tough calls, interviews or those sneaky feelings that creep in that tell you that you're not good enough. All those bullshit emails, AI resume readers and part time opinion sharers can really get you down.

But whenever these thoughts enter my head, I think about the hard things. Things that sucked. Things that made me question what the fuck I'm doing.

I feel Lucky to have gone through these things. It's an honour to face adversity, whether it's individual or next to the courage of others.

Some of the days you see in this video were long, some of them that aren't seen here were even longer and darker. Some days we bled, some days we cried, some days we fought and others we just collapsed tired.

But if it was easy, everyone would do it. I don't always know what challenges are around any corner in life but choosing to face challenges and not avoid them has helped me to no end. Even though sometimes my back hurts and my ears ring.

Each day is a school day, and to whoever reads or watches this and gets something from it, don't forget what you can do when the chips are down.

"If I'm lucky enough, I will get through hard things and they will make be gentle to the ways of the world"

At least that kinda works for me.

Strength and honour! 👊🏻

RONIN OPS

"Men Wanted: For hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success." - Shackleton

Throwback to our project with @thrudark shooting their RONIN range in the Canadian Rockies. We recruited and worked with the ski patrol teams and some awesome skiers and individuals from our brotherhood!

Sub zero temps, amazing locations, backcountry skiing and badass gear...that's what we are about! 🔥 🖤

DONT BE A SHEEP! 🐏

We are stoked to now be working with @snowshepherdgloves shooting their gear in the places it was meant to be used. And there is no better place than the mountains in the land of sheep...Wales!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The Eryri landscape is deep rooted in who we are and it was awesome to test and shoot the new 'I.C.EWE' goggles along with leather guide pro and ski work gloves.

Keep en eye out for more over at @snowshepherdgloves & @snowshepherdnl 🤘🏻

Welsh Couloir 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏔️

Epic day in the motherland with @poppy_falzon crushing her first ice axe adventure! 🪓
Awesome conditions, feels good to be stomping crampons and slamming axes again. I've missed the simplicity of charging straight up a snowy mountain.
Our @snowshepherdgloves guide gloves were the Buisness too, highly recommend! 🧤

"Today’s guest brings a wealth of real-world emergency experience to the show. @tomandrewsmith spent three years in Canada working as both a wildland firefighter and a senior ski-patrol medic, responding to high-risk situations in some of the most demanding environments. Back home, they’ve continued to build their career through production and expedition medical work, stepping into roles that require sharp judgment, resilience, and the ability to stay calm when it matters most.

Now preparing for their next chapter potentially joining the UK ambulance service, with interview results on the way @tomandrewsmith is here to share their journey, the lessons learned on the front lines, and what drives their passion for emergency and remote medicine."

Complete ☑️

100 push ups a day for cancer research UK! My arms are tired but it was worth it. For those of you wondering, these reps are for my dad. He is battling cancer like so many over the UK. The funds raised by will go to @cr_uk for research, treatment and the battle against cancer. It's scary, it's brutal and touches so many. I'm glad some of my brute forces and ignorance has played a small part in helping, and thank you all for donating! 🙏🏻

If you still want to donate, the link will be in my stories but you can visit cancer research Uk and help wherever you can! 💙

Keep pushing, keep fighting and let's beat cancer 🤜🏻
