Still in awe after this moment! Having your good friend @wang_can_hang playing some new music at @teksupport for what was an insanely stacked lineup of my favourites wasn’t what I’d ever expected when I headed into this year 🫶🏼

Felt like a really reassuring way to end out what has been for all of us a spicy 2024 😂

It’s 2016 and you see a young Tomás with too much energy using Cracked software, mad passion and no idea what I was making at that time, yet all this exciting early music came to life.

I am pulling from the very back of the vault to present you with a number of early tracks I made in Ireland, on the farm, cows outside with the first but not out yet (Turnstile) being made when I was 16/17 which is coming on 10 years now.

First up is a blend of old and new ideas. Track two off the EP songz from the early dayz:

“Making Out With My Mirror”

A heavy portion of my influence is from Japanese 90s techno and DETROIT and today can catch me performing an event this weekend in Detroit. I am playing two sets just today so any of my NY fam that’s here would really make
It is huge honour to be able to come thru and perform at a time like memorial weekend with the OGs @ @movementdetroit .

I literally have nothing but excitement for this weekend ⭕️🌀🇵🇷🇮🇪

Introducing 🌀UMORA 💫

This Friday marks the first edition of a new monthly gathering where rhythm meets discovery, bringing together artists who follow instinct over genre and reflect the diverse musical languages that define New York’s electronic music landscape. Curated by @joiahluminosa.

Our inaugural night features:
🎧 Tomás (@tomas.irl) — Deep, hypnotic grooves rooted in house and minimal, with an intuitive approach that unfolds patiently across the dancefloor.
🎧 Selacuna (@kaleenlacayo) — Eclectic, globally influenced selections weaving together leftfield electronics, organic rhythms, and immersive club sounds.
🎧 Mantis Hands (@mantis.hands) — Adventurous, genre-fluid sets that blur the lines between experimental electronics, bass music, breaks, and forward-thinking club sounds.

UMORA exists to celebrate artists with distinctive voices—whether through DJs, live electronics, hybrid performances, or live bands. More than a party, it’s a place to discover new sounds, ideas, and artistic perspectives, creating moments of movement, curiosity, and connection.

See you on the dancefloor 🎶 taken in DADA NYC by @tomas.irl

SMOKIN’! 😏

Matük & Tomás will be taking over Club Flush and serving real latino power house energy on Toribio’s edition of Sunday Skate Club @xanadu.nyc

@ma.tuk plays a unique repertoire informed by their live hardware workouts and their experience with music from the global south, crafting rhythmical and psychedelic jams that pull as much from cumbia as from glitchy sample-based electronica or bassy dembow.

From San Juan to Dublin now Brooklyn based, @tomas.irl is a young musician & creative lad focused on crafting his sound with intention—exploring his rich heritage through spicy, soulful rhythms that’s open in genre and club-centric.

Expect the night to be soulful, spicy, percussive, psychedelic, funky, and bassy.

📌 Date: Sun Nov 16th
🕖 Time: 8pm-12am

CLOSING 11:30-3:00 TONIGHT AT @mansions.bar B2B with @ryel101 and @ssg____________ opening things up! Your local techno pirate is ready to go!

Always excited to have the opportunity to perform at this spot. Last time was a live set with @ragofromthelo & that was honestly one of my favorite sets I’ve ever performed and I will be dropping the 6 hour live set soon!

Peep a new track coming out soon with the homie @aarondjuan that you may hear tonight as well as all the many tracks I’ve been cooking up over the last few months 🌹🤘🏾 by @tomas.irl

The first few flips of the early half of my latest @thelotradio set is up. Big thanks to @kilopatrahjones for the opportunity 🌹

I cannot wait to share the rest. What started as an hour slot turned into 2 and I relaxed into it playing tracks I love but wouldn’t make the cut for just an hour ❤️🌹*p.s last two slides are a new track hehe

I will have an even longer B2B set this Thursday at @mansions.bar with my twin & homie @ryel101 from Detroit (we were born a minute apart) who regularly is playing back in the 313. Alongside this, another longtime friend @ssg____________ who is just after playing @goodroombk will be opening up but there are no warm up sets here hehe 🌹🤘🏾❤️ taken in The Lot Radio by @tomas.irl

Fan favorite @tomas.irl came through with a usb filled with rhythm & flow 🍀

An infinite lake of creativity. A DJ and musician who draws from a wellspring of influences—his Latin roots, Irish spark, and formal music training—Tomas performs like the CDJs are an extension of his body. Every transition feels instinctual, every phrase composed with emotion and elegance.

My cup is full after the beautifully insane madness that was movement weekend in Detroit. Inspired by it all, I’m wasting no time getting back to the music.
