POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Words cannot explain the joy and bliss of being part of this awesome release by John Digweed himself. And for me personally, having my first release on vinyl is mind-blowing.

I used to sell records in a shop for a living about 10 years ago, and I dreamed of having my own someday. And here I am, just one of many great artists collaborating, but still, or maybe even better, because this feels truly special.

As I stated before, I started my electronic music journey listening to John’s Live in Córdoba, getting completely immersed in this new sound as a child. Being part of this new John Digweed album now feels like a full circle for that boy who dreamed of being part of the electronic music scene.

I’m just a drop of water in an ocean of great music, even on this great album full of wonderful tracks, but it still feels like the world to me. So thanks to everybody who has been part of this journey with me. Thanks to John and all the other artists who inspired me, thanks to my colleagues who walked with me, thanks to everyone supporting my art with love, and especially thanks to that boy who dreamed, and never stopped dreaming.

And I mean that because Spark of Life is a track that took me more than 10 years to finish. It all started with the vocal. I saw a movie and was struck by the musical feeling of the vocal, and instantly knew I was going to use it in my music someday. At that time I didn’t even know what Ableton or a synthesizer was, so it took me a while to catch up. Maybe seven years later I tried for the first time — a completely different piece of music but with the same vocal. It didn’t quite feel right, so I shelved it. Then two or three years ago I finally decided it was time to make it happen. And apparently the music was already there, because I just opened Ableton and the sounds started falling into place one after another, all like magic. In less than four hours the track was essentially finished. I just had to balance the mix and adjust a few minor touches here and there. But it came through as if it had really been waiting 10 years to unfold.

Crazy stuff.

Ya salió “Spark Of Life” en @sumoverhistories ⚡️

Simplemente gracias.

The first newest artist addition we’re presenting today as part of the upcoming Path Integral X is @tomas__gc . ‚I tried to embody the feeling of surf into this track. But It's not only about surfing, but also about the idea of surfing the wave of life in the same way, with a strive for balance and present awereness, being one with nature and driving forward a thriving culture.‘ says Tomás GC.
