A DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING

While I was waiting for the bus, lost in thought...

I looked down and saw a green spit-up. A loogie. A disgusting glob of phlegm right next to me.

Few people know this, but whenever I smell something foul or see slimy shapes, I lose it.

The nausea and gagging started—I’m not exaggerating, I was on the verge of barfing. That "loogie" was something profane.

What kind of disgusting pig throws loogies at a bus stop where people might step on them?

He was three feet away from a tree. Why didn't the jerk just aim there?
What was that beast thinking?
In a way, he would’ve at least watered the little tree.

Once the nausea passed, and I started writing about this experience in the notes on my phone, a lady walked by and almost stepped on it.
No!

It was close. UGH!

I saw the lady walk away, but a few yards later, she turned back around.

She walked over the same spot again, and she did it.
No, ma'am!
Stop!

The poor woman had human phlegm stuck to the sole of her shoe; sticky, green, probably salty... Poor lady... how awful, how gross.

She has no idea she’s carrying a fluid spat out by some inconsiderate lowlife.

How many times have I stepped on someone else's "loogies"?

How many times have we made it home and stepped on our own floors with someone else's spit?

While I was thinking about that, a bus pulled up and a schoolgirl got on, and with her, her dog...

With a little bowtie.

It’s nice to see that city transit lets dogs travel with their owners.

Seconds later, the driver, swearing up a storm, kicked the girl and her bowtied dog off the bus.

I’m inclined to think the driver was the one who spat that loogie on the ground.
