Some Strange Attractors made with GLSL and POPs in @touchdesigner

I have been quite interested in chaos theory for some time now (although I do not pretend to understand much more than the basics of it). Similar to most, the theory intrigues me simply due to the fact that Chaos, which is a 'complicated' phenomenon, does not arise from complicated structures but from fundamental aspects of simple systems. Chaos, and it's paradoxically predictive, yet indeterminate outcome, is inherent everywhere in nature. @veritasium has an amazing video on the basic principles of Chaos.

I made these animations back in June, when the first test release of POPs was released.

'The Lab' was a fixed laser art installation for @ealulegra in the old laboratory of scientific experimenter Richard Kirwan.

Designed by Myself, Thomas Bradshaw and my brother @jamespmoran21 , featuring 150 lasers and a perfect immersive soundscape created by @soft_structures .
To create a cosy space for festival goers in the hidden 'lab', @lanachapman hand-made large waterproof cushions with local sheep's wool.

The attempt was to make a smooth waveform shape, but with limited time and materials, in the end we worked with the reality of imperfect 3D printing, and the resulting effect of imperfect angles. However in the end, the space became more interesting. The shape was still there, but the imperfect angles created an entangled, web like atmosphere, complimented even more by @soft_structures soundscape.

This was a quick experiment and a small project, but required sooo many voluntary helping hands from friends. Thank you everyone (you know who you are) so much for helping us put this together in such a crazy short time period:)

I am more than a year behind posts of projects and work. A lot has happened! Currently taking some time to look back through the archives.

To begin here are two random portraits I found, straight from the camera, that have nice memories attached to them and of the general time they were taken. by @tomascmoran

Not far from a year ago the amazing @piquant_media gave me an award for my Undergraduate Final Year Project. I was extremely happy to have received an award for the first project that I truly had the opportunity to spend a substantial amount of time and focus on. It was a self directed project, and sparked a flourish of inspiration in me.

One week ago I had the privilege of performing some improvised live visuals for @brawnibeats @paddy_mulcahy @chaz_moloney in a little gig ran by @limerick_noise_collective within @spacecraft.limerick

Both the music and the visuals were improvised with no rehearsals or planning. All visuals were made in @touchdesigner where I programmed live on top of some scripts.

Thanks Dylan & @soft_structures for the help and thank you Paddy for inviting me along. I look forward to performing with these lads again!
