What does a place ask of its designer?

Working across countries and cultures, I begin each commission by reading the place: its architecture, its rhythm and the way people move through it.

For Moonbloom & The Art of Design (As Above, So Below), commissioned by LJZ Shanghai, the openness of M Focus and Crystal Plaza became the starting point. Preserving that openness was a deliberate design decision, giving light, living nature and the surrounding architecture room to interact.

Moonbloom reimagines the moon through floral form and light , inviting a moment of stillness and wonder within Shanghai’s urban rhythm while Above and below, two translucent landscapes respond to one another, with a living floral sphere between them. Seven coloured lenses invite visitors to experience that same sphere differently.

The installations remains constant. Colour, position and personal perspective change the encounter.

That is the intention behind the creative direction: to translate an idea about perception into a physical experience, allowing each visitor to discover something of their own.

Some flowers become part of a story bigger than themselves 🇫🇷🌸

On Sunday, Lourdes became the setting for a very special occasion, with a large floral installation surrounding the altar.

Created by floral designer Tomas De Bruyne, the design brought together different flowers, colours and shapes in one impressive floral setting, in collaboration with the Sanctuary of Lourdes, the Carmélites Apostoliques de Bagnères-de-Bigorre and several growers and partners.

We’re proud that our flowers were part of this special moment, alongside so many talented people who helped bring the installation to life.

For us, it’s also another chapter in our long-term collaboration with Tomas, built on trust, consistency and flowers he knows he can rely on.

The artwork remains constant.
Our perception transforms it.

WHEN DOES ABUNDANCE BECOME ART?

What you see is abundance: thousands of flowers suspended in space, intertwined with light, colour and movement.

But the finished installation is only the visible result.

Before a single flower found its place, there was an idea. A creative process of observing, questioning, sketching, testing, refining—and transforming imagination into an experience.

One of these images is featured in my book, The Art of Design, where I reveal not only what I created, but how the idea emerged and evolved.

Because design is never simply about making something beautiful. It is about the thinking, the choices and the awareness that allow beauty to take form.

Most ideas fit on a table.
This one refused to.

It asked for 9.9 metres of air.

For water to rise against gravity,
then find its own way down.

For geometry to carry life.

For engineering to become invisible.

And for a building in Shanghai
to hold something that feels impossible until the moment it stands.

MOONBLOOM is not an object made larger. It is an idea becoming architecture.

A drawing becoming an experience.
The unknown becoming real.
For now, it is only a line.
In September 2026, that line will rise.
