Close-up time. Pictures have 1:1 pixels from my camera, so I hope some brush strokes are visible. It would be great if you give attention how I painted gold and other close parts reflections on the silver armor and sword. I used one from colors from part which is reflected and mixed it with grey used on the place of reflection. Let me know which part visible on pictures do you like and why? Much appreciated. Cheers!

I'm so happy GW changed its policy to show only photos of winners of the GD on the official website Warhammer Community and we have finally, after years, proper pictures of Commended entries. Kudos to all who stand behind this change. I highly recommend it for everyone to see all that master crafts there.

You can see my Gotrek there and I like the picture they made. I added some photos made by me. Actually not so bad photos in comparison to professional one.

Thank you @warhammerofficial

My version of Abaddon the Despoiler is done for now. Model is latest reincarnation of WH40k leader of traitor chaos legions. As he is champion of all 4 chaos gods I implemented their colors to model. Green hue of black armor is because Nurgle, red OSL is in favor of rage of Khorne, cloak and purple OSL is in colors and style of Slaanesh, blue tubing and sword is in colors of Tzeentch. Because there is lots of painted Abaddons over the internet I wanted mine to be different to others so I changed his posture by moving his point of mass more to the front and by rotation of his claw. It gives him more dynamic pose without any cutting and sculpting. The result of changes angles was the trophy rack was too high on my taste so I shortened it a little. Empty space on the top of his armor is filled by more trophies, because again the space was too empty and more visible now. It was long journey and I learned a lot. I hope you like the result. Cheers!

He is on Putty and Paint too, link in my bio.

Hello guys, this is post with my models and pins from this Golden demon in Essen. I took some time to post this. It almost on day one year I returned back to my painting and I must say, what a ride it was. On this one I took a bunch of new and old models, on other hand I made some changes on all of them. I'm going to post more photos later. This was my first GD with new trophies and pins. I understand now, how GW pushed trophies In direction of an open format competition with three best of category and one best of show, still keep the spicy balance of competition in place. And my results? I'm pretty happy with them, considering how insane quality of work people produce, not bad for a guy with some old-school habits. I would be happier, if one of the pins was finalist pin, but other guys was just better, that is Golden demon. Funny thing is I still take commented trophy after all these years, unfortunately commended is a little less valuable than before. Anyway, I really enjoyed GD weekend in Germany, I hope you had a good time too. I met a lot of people and I even spoke with few of you. I want to mention my fellow Czech and Slovak friends from our growing GD community @zumikit0, @zabaart_ and @lukacovicbranislav. I do not want to forget on @albert.moreto.font for valuable feedback on my models and @ironkeepstudio for generous gift as I use his brush on my last models almost exclusively.
Of course, congratulations to all winners, not just who win trophies but all, who created anything and we have pleasure to see it in cabinets.
I hope I'll see you all again on the next GD. Just small warning, I'll be better next time.😅 Cheers!

My entries in cabinets of this Golden Demon Essen. I will make proper photos next week, because I painted to the last minute. I made some changes on every ones of entries even some of them are pre covid creations. The quality of work in cabinets is insane and some people will add more models tomorrow. Cheers!

Update after two weekend sessions. Still wip. Main topic was to make some tweaks to the axe, especially to reduce some distraction effect it did. I think now it it looks more subtle and more like trophy. I also made some night shadow effect on his back. Mostly because it is boring fur all over the place. It is my real first attempt of such thing and I already see some parts for improve. Cheers!

New update, again after two sessions. Experiments with the axe took most of a time. Do you like it? Cheers!

Hey guys, the plan was keep this project secret, but I would like to know what do you think about direction I moved this style of nurgle warrior. So here it is small sneak peek on the one member of a future unit. It seems, I'm particularly bad in keeping secrets... Cheers!
