'L’Hirondelle' offers a fantasy. Juliet Phillips, Naomi Chambers, and Alexandre Pépin, working across a diverse mix of media, prod to life a fantasy which centralizes figurative and emotional innocence, explores longing and myth, and brings childhood dreams and fears to light. The works in the exhibition create a new world, building a reality that encourages both reverie and delusion.

✨Announcing✨ an open call for art for our Fall exhibition in partnership with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. Current members are invited to submit artwork around the theme of 'transparency' for an exhibition at the Tomayko Foundation.

The call is open until July 3. Thank you to our two jurors: Lacey Murray and Cat Burton. All the info about the call can be found on our website, link in bio.

Congratulations to the recipient of the Spring 2026 Choreography Award at Point Park University: Makayla Rice

Makayla Rice has been dancing from a young age and has continued to grow her passion and love for the art throughout the years. She has plans to graduate with her BFA in dance with a jazz concentration from Point Park University. She has worked with choreographers such as Martha Nichols, Martha Graham, Jason Mcdole, Kiki Lucas, Al Blackstone, and many more. Her movements can be explained as powerful, athletic, and hard-hitting. Teaching and educating the younger generation of dancers is important to Rice and one of her truest passions. She finds that the change in the dance world will come through the next generations. Rice’s career is just getting started and she is extremely excited to see where this long journey is going to take her!

Rice’s winning piece, “Every Living Moment”, explores embracing change and allowing yourself to grow into the person you dream to be.

Ashley Cecil creates multimedia work of feminine forms, flora, fauna, and cultural iconography that connects the health of the natural world to the vulnerability of society. From collaborations with scientists to becoming a mother, her practice blends years of rumination on caregiving, climate change, mythology, and our religious and political affiliations.

Cecil has exhibited at Brew House Arts (Pittsburgh, PA), Albany Museum of Art (Albany, GA), Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (Pittsburgh, PA), Masur Museum of Art (Monroe, LA), and many more. Her work has been collected at Carnegie Museums, Oxfam America, and Pittsburgh International Airport.

Nathan Cephas is a multidisciplinary artist whose image-making aims to translate the sacred, ethereal, and primordial aspects of the natural world through visual poetry. His photographic work, rooted in analogue processes, is intended to serve as meditation and reflection within the current state of the world which we live in today.

Cephas has exhibited at Silver Eye Center for Photography, Tomayko Foundation, and Artist Image Resource.

This is the final week to see 'In the Light of Your Shadow'.

Darya Kharabi's work explores our relationship to land and each other, using animals that live in the periphery (like rabbits and birds) as allegories for the masses of humanity. They believe deeply in narratives where the prey unite and overthrow their oppressor, and in small, delicate things having a lot of power. Through cut paper, Kharabi experiments with ornament and composition to communicate experiences, investigate things that live in the periphery, and agitate for collectivity.

As a diasporic Iranian, Kharabi constantly considers their access to America’s land while being barred from their own through borders, sanctions, and totalitarian threats. Relegated to secondhand meeting places to be with their family, they wonder what home is when their loved ones are barred again and again from the land they were raised in, by coincidence of birth and passport.

Sophie Thompson is a mixed media sculptor informed by her personal experiences being legally blind and a part of the invisible disability community. In her practice, she uses the process of molding and casting in nontraditional fine arts materials to create multi-sensory performance displays. She experiments in transitory materials such as wax, gelatin, and glycerin soap. Thompson’s work focuses on research into disability aesthetics and methods of self-care, which informs the creation of a crip visual mythos.

Thompson has exhibited at Southern Alleghenies Museum, Brew House Arts, the Philip Dressler Center for the Arts (Sarasota, FL), among others. She has been a member of Radiant Hall Studios since 2024. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art, Science & Innovation and Environmental Science/Sustainability from Allegheny College.
