Filming in the Brazilian Amazon is always a reminder that every production is shaped by the environment as much as by the story itself.Our team traveled from Manaus to Tefé and into remote communities along the Amazon River, combining boats, regional flights, long days, and careful logistics to reach locations where reliable access is anything but simple.High temperatures, intense humidity, changing weather, and river travel are all part of the job—but so is working alongside an outstanding crew that makes every challenge manageable.A big thank you to @jeffldoc @felmeireles @carolinafernandesbanksia @audio.am @fotomichaeldantas @marrodripei91 for another great collaboration. The new episode of the Fixer Brazil Podcast is especially meaningful to Fixer Brazil team.Years ago, @tomazcavalieri and @renatofalzoni traveled to Cuba to study Wildlife Filmmaking at EICTV, and one of the mentors who had a profound impact on us was Paul Reddish, from the BBC Natural History Unit. At the time, we were coming from a background in sports television and documentary production in Brazil, fascinated by the possibility of telling stories through nature, behavior, atmosphere, and emotion.Paul was one of the people who helped expand our understanding of what documentary filmmaking could be. Not only technically, but philosophically — understanding rhythm, patience, observation, and the responsibility of transforming reality into cinematic storytelling.Now, many years later, having Paul as a guest on the Fixer Brazil Podcast felt like closing a circle.In this conversation, we talk about the evolution of wildlife filmmaking, technology, AI, storytelling, and the challenges of producing films in some of the most remote places on Earth.
