Earlier this summer I got the opportunity to shoot the first pro event for @patagoniaeurope presenting their new Free Wall Kit, accompanied by some testing and climbing in the beautiful Gorges du Verdon.

Went hunting for Dutch barrels yesterday.
Although we didn't find any, we definitely had a ton of fun surfing and shooting some snaps!

“Well, I reckon it’ll outlast me.” After three decades of good times, imagine the tales a well-worn shell could tell? Craig Wheeler (@idle.fabrication) called in to see the Worn Wear crew this weekend at Val-d’Isère with one question: Could we fix some seam tape in his 30-year-old jacket? Turns out “some” meant just about all of it...

Craig first got his hands on this trusty old jacket at a store in Wānaka, New Zealand (his cousin worked there and got him a sweet deal). Since then it’s been almost everywhere with him: South America, France, Slovakia, and another 50 or so countries in between. Ski trips, hikes, and missions on his mountain bike. At this point, it’s more stories than stitches.

“I could get a new one for skiing,” Craig told us, “but why would I? It still does its job and keeps me dry.” So the team did their thing and repaired the seams as best they could—getting Craig’s jacket back in shape for plenty more days on the hill.

When the Worn Wear team asked him if he thinks it’ll last another 30 years, he laughed: “Well, I reckon it’ll outlast me.”

Last weekend's surf session with @lorenzowobben made me reminisce about the crazy fun session we had about a month ago with @pachalight during the @patagoniaeurope Worn Wear tour.

The whole meet-up was so impromptu, Pacha was on her way to Germany, but had a layover in Amsterdam.

Imagine going to the sunniest place in Europe, you've got just a few hours with a talented team of athletes so the pressure is on!
Only to find out that exactly thát afternoon, the clouds come rolling in and it starts to rain.
You're flying down a beautiful descent, hanging from the back of a car in a climbing harness.
My initial reaction was, well there goes the shoot...
But I have to so say that after leaving the photos for a bit and editing them about a week later, I've grown to like them!

We look back on an epic time in the Swiss Alps with the Worn Wear Snow Tour. We came, we repaired, and we kept your gear in play—one stitch at a time. Over six days, we fixed more than 250 items and raised 900 CHF in donations for @protectourwintersswitzerland.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to celebrate the gear they love and share their stories. The best gear is the gear you already own.
