POSTS STORIES REELS

Your boy did it - TCR No.12 GC Finisher!

~4800km racing across Europe in 17 days 13 hours 49 minutes from Trondheim to Kalamata

13 countries. So many amazing experiences.

A journey of a lifetime. Loved every second (except all the pre-packaged croissants I had to force myself to eat in The Balkans)

Thanks @mason_cycles for the SLR bike that could take it all on. It was such a smooth ride from start to finish

@kostume.cc for clothing that can handle one of the toughest bike races in the world - It was super comfy and never failed

To the other brands who helped support my journey - thank you!

Thanks for everyone who’s been following along, dot watching and sending messages of support.

I’ve survived on ~4hours of sleep every night. Now in need of a little more. by @tombryanyeah

In May 2025, @sarah_ruggins made history.

She became the fastest person to cycle from John O’Groats to Land’s End and back, covering the 1,677-mile route in an astonishing 5 days, 11 hours, and 14 minutes.

Sarah didn’t just smash the women’s record - she claimed the outright record.

But what makes her achievement all the more extraordinary is everything she had to overcome to get there.

Just over two years earlier, she had barely ridden a bike. Before that, she spent years recovering from a debilitating illness that stripped her of her physical strength and sense of identity. And yet, through grit, precision, and an unshakeable mindset, she transformed herself from a complete novice into one of the most elite endurance cyclists in the world.

This episode is about more than athletic achievement - it’s about radical transformation.

It’s a story of what happens when you set an audacious goal, back it with discipline, and believe that setbacks are just the start of something greater.

The actual story of small boat crossings - told by journalist and broadcaster, Horatio Clare, who spent time in Dover speaking to those on the frontline, helping people.

The longest ever demo ride?
Great to have @tombryanyeah drop back into The Barn and tell us about his time on this year’s Transcontinental Race - his first ever ultra.

Tom borrowed one of our trusty ‘super-tourer’ SLR bikes for the race. He was pleased to report it carried him flawlessly through the thousands of kilometres that separated the cold of Norway and the heat of the Balkans.

After sharing 17 special days on the road together, did he become attached to his borrowed steed? Give it a name?

“Demo Bike 9”

Perfect. Congratulations again Tom on a brilliant ride.

If you’d like to take an SLR or any other of our bikes for a test ride, get in touch and come down to The Barn. We promise we won’t make you ride across Europe. by @tombryanyeah

It’s actually Day 16 but I honestly have not known what day or the week it is or what county is next.

Totally forgot I was even travelling to North Macedonia next until right after this.

This is the final video I recorded during the race, before I locked in a big push for the finish (750km in the final two days)

Thanks to everyone who has followed along with the journey and stories from the road - there’s many more I could tell!

Made it to CP4!

The heat and the mountains making this stretch incredibly demanding. But the views more than make up for it.

In one 24 hour period, I had crossed into 4 countries. Albania is so lush. The people wonderful too - so many lovely stories of my encounters with them.

You couldn’t find a bad place in Montenegro. I was cursing myself for plotting the hard route through a valley that involved hiking my bike up a steep gravel path and getting lost in a forest, but once I was in the valley, it looked like something out of National Geographic.

I’m keeping good time in the race and now on the home stretch bound for Kalamata!

Rolled into CP3, Sarajevo, just about maintaining my 1.5day lead to the race cut off.

It’s been a tricky few days with the heat really cranking up. I’ve been finding creative ways to keep cool while still moving forward.

On top of the heat slowing things down I also had a major routing fail leaving Budapest which meant I had to do a complete re-route on the fly, costing me precious race time (and distance). I’m a rookie and there were always going to be moments that revealed that over a race of this distance.

Still, I’m pushing through, doing everything I need to do to keep me in this race.

I’ve now covered over 3,500km, crossing 8 countries so far!
