Shoutout the movie Closer (2004) 🤘 FUN FACTS: @panicatthedisco recorded A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out TWO WHOLE MONTHS after graduating high school (blows my mind that literal teenagers created a record this ambitious), and were signed by @petewentz to @dcd2records after posting demos online. The album is split into 2 halves stylistically, with ‘Intermission’ dividing the pop rock/electronic fusion of the first half, and the more traditional baroque pop flavor of the second. Fever was recorded over 3 and a half weeks, on a budget of $11,000, which exhausted the band, who had to immediately jump into rehearsals as they had yet to PLAY A LIVE SHOW! (Absolutely insane) This record is another no skip in my heart, and I suppose you don’t HAVE to listen to the whole thing.. but it’s better if you do 😉 what’s your favorite song from the album?? #alternative #emo #panicatthedisco #afeveryoucantsweatout #patd taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @tomcat182

If you don’t sing the intro through clinched teeth, and belt that bridge, are you really singing it? FUN (well, not for the band) FACTS: Multiple band members got injured during the making of the Famous Last Words video, with drummer Bob Bryar (RIP) suffering third degree burns, guitarist @raytoro blistering/fracturing several of his fingers, and singer @gerardway injuring his leg. The video is meant to represent the end of their journey through the story of The Black Parade, featuring the burning set from WTTBP, and the fate of ‘the patient’ is purposefully left open to interpretation. This record comfortably sits in my top 10, and this song is one of my favorite album closers (not counting Blood lol). It’s a tune that’s gotten me throooough it. the first ever jack the underdog music video is out now 📽️ i’ve been in a few music videos, have a few for collab songs, and even have a mini parody video (shoutout DAD TODAY lmao) but i’ve never done a full music video for a standalone JTU song. as soon as we finished “mixed emotions”, i had such a clear concept for visuals that i knew i couldn’t ignore it (my main inspiration being the film “everything everywhere all at once”). 60+ hours of editing later in iMovie (yes, iMovie) and here we are. and i’m really proud of how it turned out 🥹 and it’s also proof you don’t need AI for creative endeavors, even if it’s unfamiliar territory for you … just teach yourself! it’s much more fun & rewarding :) huge thank you to everyone that was involved and to anyone that’s supported the new era so far. i love this song so much and i can’t wait to show y’all what else we have in store 🩷 check out the full video on YouTube or Spotify & see the credits below 👇 video credits: (NO AI USED) directed, produced, & edited by: @jacktheunderdog videography & color grading by: @lillicatmusic additional videography (intro) & cover art: @hayleymikell band: - guitar: @tomcat182 - drums: @thehuntercurry - bass: @therosesavage - keys: @mattheworgel costume design: @jacktheunderdog, @mcoltoncomeaux, & band line, block, & pixel art by: @jacktheunderdog filmed at: @drmmstudio & green hills mall parking garage song credits: songwriters: @jacktheunderdog, @mattheworgel, @chloeyindica, @todd_t_tran, & @chasecimala produced, mixed, & mastered by: @todd_t_tran special thanks: - @linz.coontz for bts shots - patreon members: Mya Martin, Brittany Perry, Most Likely Lies, Jess, Sarah Bjornson, Sarah, gnohp, Michelle Giannavola, Andrew, Sue Gergen, Mama & Papa Underdog, & JillianK #musicvideo #dancerock #hyperpop #surrealism #alt by @tomcat182

We were setting up chairs like mad to this song in youth group 😤 They’re Only Chasing Safety is such a damn heater of an album, loved getting to see @underoathband play it front to back on the rebirth tour. My friends and I wore this record OUT in high school. Plus, the song title is a reference to LOTR, so it was extra cool 😎 What’s your favorite from this album?? @underoathband - It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door #alternative #emo #posthardcore #underoath #elderemo taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @tomcat182

Untitled supremacy 🤘🎸🔥 @blink182 have long been known for some insanely good bridges, but none better than this one in my opinion. Featuring a @markhoppus section over @travisbarker’s drum break (with @tomdelonge coming in on guitar halfway through), the bridge shifts the song’s focus from the more physical and romantic desire of the verse/chorus, to a reflection of acceptance and longing. Though it’s not as widely known as some of their other hits (often overshadowed on this album by I Miss You), it’s hard to think of a song that better showcases Blink as a band. I’ve heard this song a ridiculous amount of times and it never gets old. @blink182 - Feeling This #alternative #poppunk #blink182 #feelingthis #elderemo taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @tomcat182

Please rise for the MySpace profile anthem 🫡 This song (really the whole Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! album) does something to my brain every time I hear it. It’s almost impossible for me to be in a bad mood when it’s playing. It’s a hit of serotonin straight to my brain, and it just perfectly captures that feeling of being totally infatuated with someone. I first saw @itshellogoodbye many moons ago, so when they graciously had my band @jacktheunderdog open their show last year in Nashville, it really felt like a full circle moment. Such awesome guys with a very fun show, do yourself a favor and grab a ticket next time they’re in town! @itshellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms) #alternative #elderemo #hellogoodbye #emo taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @tomcat182

Ah, back in the days when you used to find your music tastes on video game soundtracks 🥲 Ocean Avenue is such an absolute scorcher of a pop punk record that it’s really hard to pick any one song from it. Not to mention that violin! @yellowcard is a ridiculously fun band to see live, and they were my first ever crowd surfing experience (shoutout @vanswarpedtour 🤘) What’s your favorite song??
