I like to think. I like to experience. Life is a cosmic privilege, I am so, so fortunate to be a human. Next quest is to touch the ancients.

a guy came over and made some fire paella for my family and I.

Also I went to a Walmart to buy some lil water shoes, and the parking lot smelled of rice and beans and empanadillas and i just thought about how home depot needs to STEP. UP. ITS. GAME.

Journey to Puerto Rico, a photojournal:

1. Standard cruising altitude and speed of most commerical jetliners, posted here just to remind everyone of the insanity that this shit is routine and mundane.

2. My flight headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico, passing through the white void where they film Apple commercials.

3. Altitude and speed as we began our descent into SJU.

4. We emerged from the Apple commercial set and could see ocean! Breathtaking. This was what I was waiting for. Those waves must be enormous.

5. This wacky little heart shaped river bend on final approach. :3

6. Altitude and speed roughly around the heart.

7. Final approach and landing!

8. Altitude and speed around the heart.

9. Coquis doing they thang. This island is magical.

I did not get pictures of the #eclipse as I was busy looking at it, but I had a MOST wonderful time. Driving across New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, and finally Oklahoma was fun. I had some straight up amazing taquitos and we found some amazing pickled quail eggs en route to our destination - and we didn’t know where that was.

Finally tried Yuengling lager (eh) and Shiner Bock (nice!) at the random campsite in Oklahoma, which was data-free and and found with just our wits about us. We were terrified of getting our view blocked by a particularly large cloud system, but we were able to see all four minutes of #totality, only to have that cloud system roll in minutes after. Timing was everything.

Oklahoma’s forests are a sight to behold, a buzzing, thriving little ecosystem with all kinds of interesting creatures and plants and sounds. No notes, Oklahoma trees go hard.

Go meet more trees, and remember: cats are places.

slowly but surely, a #server is born

still waiting on some parts, but a five-bay 3.5" hot swap module has been installed, along with 32 GB of RAM. Not a ton of memory, but it's mainly going to be a storage server with light VM duties for the time being.

I was a big fan of old storage in the same way I am obsessed with contemporary storage, although I prefer wood and accents to modern petroleum-based materials.
.
The indigenous art was also fantastic, inspiring me to be less of a lazy shit of someone in 1849 could hand make textiles with that level of vibrant color (almost 200 years later) and exciting geometric symbiosis.

Go check out the @denverartmuseum, you nerds, it's really good. Getcha art on. by @tomcat_foolery
