I had a wonderful time with Vox Luminis last week, performing 3 of the greatest pieces of polyphony of all time (Tallis - Spem in Alium, Lamentations 1&2, and Sheppard - Media Vita) with the enchanting dance of choreographer Saburo Teshigawara. Here are a couple group snaps by @tomhkelly

If you can, please donate to @thesameerproject they are doing amazing work distributing food and water in Gaza right now. It may feel like we are powerless. Activism may look ‘performative’. But collective action and protest is very deliberately a performance. It is designed to make people feel something and learn something. And it has a selfish benefit of making you feel better as an individual. But when people come together to act and feel better as individuals and as a group, we improve each other, and resist the systematic silencing of oppressive power structures. Or in this case, murder and eradication of Palestinians. Big thanks to @esgoldstone and @davidfyoung for their organising and inspiration to take part in this #hungerstrikeforgaza. I am also doing this as part of @christianaiduk and their #fastforgaza (even if I am tragically not a Christian). La la land! Some horizontal slides from the land of make believe aka #la with some gorgeous people, shot on Ilford ilfocolor 400 vintage, which is a very fun film. Thanks @benjamin_mckee for the olympus trip 35 🥰. La la-ing was done in the #disneyhall with #concertdastree by @tomhkelly
Finally got some film developed, so here is Paris in b&w with some beautiful astrees 🤩 by @tomhkelly
Went for a walk in the Alps. Met some Marmots before the great Marmot/Batsleer wedding by @tomhkelly
Better late than never… I got to perform Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, a baroque masterpiece of ‘architectural scope and ornate expressivity’ in Huddersfield Town Hall. Such a pleasure to perform with @hismajsagbutts, @huddersfieldchoral, and some world class players. Not to mention a top team of soloists and @gregorybatsleer conducting 😍 by @tomhkelly
@fiericonsort went to Copenhagen earlier this month to work with @camerataoresund to perform a collection of works by Christoph Graupner. He was a contemporary of Bach in Leipzig and actually wrote 1700+ works, roughly six hundred more than his contemporary. His music seems refreshingly dramatic almost to the point of being economical and we loved performing it. Our concert is live on Danish Radio P2 tonight at 19:20. @camerataoresund give a particularly incredible performance of one of his ‘overtures’ which was around 8 movements, and gets increasingly weirder. Well worth a listen! https://www.dr.dk/lyd/oversigt #earlymusic #music #graupner #baroque #baroquemusic #baroquemusiclovers by @tomhkelly
