Last night, within the elegant ambiance of the Canadian Permanent Mission, I found myself engrossed in beautiful conversations with the distinguished Senators of Canada.

L-R Amidst other important conversations, Her exquisite brooch caught my attention. She said casually; 'I think my cloths are out of fashion'. Yet, style transcends trends; it emanates from within, I learned the timeless lesson that confidence in one's self-expression surpasses fleeting fashion, and true elegance lies in authenticity.

The accomplished Senator Ratna Omidvar, for Ontario, humbled me with her wisdom from her years of legislative service. Asking about her journey, i learnt the importance of humility. Senator Omidvar emphasized the power of admitting uncertainty, a virtue she acquired through experience. Her willingness to acknowledge when she does not know something taught me the virtue of humility, life long learning and the strength found in standing by what you know and admitting the things you do not know creates a path way to growth.

Jenny Abdulla, Co-Founder of the Canadian Federation of Citizenship, she told me: "Never let the outside voices be stronger than the inner voice." Honoring one's inner truth amidst the clamor of external influences.

Senator Donna Dasko, representing Ontario, and Co-Founder of Equal Voice. Her passion for the election of more women to all levels of Canadian politics ignites a spark within me, reminding me of the transformative power of dedication and advocacy.

Finally(Last Slide), I was enraptured by Honorable Minister for Women, Gender Equality and Youth of Canada, Marcie Len. A former Journalist for CTV, Her grace and simplicity, without any airs, despite all of her achievements is a realization that grace, coupled with unwavering commitment, creates the path to greatness.

Last night, I discovered that true leadership goes beyond titles and accolades—it emanates from authenticity, humility, conviction, passion, and grace. May we all be inspired to embody these virtues in our journey towards making a meaningful impact in the world. by @tomiodunsi

Being on the Executive Board of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women as the 1st African in 92years to lead 110 countries in the world is truly a privilege. Even more inspiring is, connecting with powerful Icelandic women in governance, passionate and intentional about closing the gender gap in the workplace and achieving parity at every level and industry. They shared and we examined common practices at the 17th BPW Europe an Conference and the 9th Young BPW Europe Symposium which was dedicated to Equality, Equity and Inclusion.

P1: Her excellency, Eliza Reid - First Lady of Iceland. She is most approachable person in such a high office that I have ever had conversations with. In this picture, she leans toward me to ask if I had taken my best picture yet despite being in a hurry to go for her Son's engagement. I was blushing under my brown skin.

P2: Half of the BPW International Executives with the Eliza Reid, First Lady of Iceland.

P3: With Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland and Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders.

P4: Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Iceland's Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The 31years old and i were basically goofing around in series of selfies. The practice of intergenerational equity in all sectors is such a necessity. So inspiring.

P5. Lucie Samcová-Hall Allen, Ambassador of the EU to Iceland

P6: with Catherine Bosshart, BPW International President. Always a delight spending very quality time with BPW Sisters from around the world.

“It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it.”—Aung San Suu Kyi, Burmese pro-democracy leader, in her book Freedom from Fear. Not super into politics? This is how much time we should really spend thinking about the topic.

Creatives, let’s talk about “MONEY ON THE TABLE” - An @ewafrica_ panel topic discussion

This conversation is LONG overdue.

In the creative industry, it has become too normal to:

Deliver work and start chasing payment
Get delayed for weeks/months
Be told “we’ll sort you out soon”
Be offered exposure instead of compensation
And mostly importantly, Royalties not being paid.
Copyright infringement etc

But let’s be clear:
Paying creatives is not a favour. It’s a responsibility.

Every time a creative is denied or delayed payment, it affects more than just that person — it affects the entire ecosystem:

The quality of work
Mental health & motivation
Sustainability of talent
Professionalism in the industry

Because creativity is not free.
Data costs. Equipment costs. Time costs. Energy costs. Growth costs.

And if we truly want a stronger entertainment industry, we must build a culture where:

Deposits are normal
Contracts are respected
Deliverables are clear
Royalties / Payments are made timely
Creatives are treated like professionals

I’m personally following up on this conversation and the progress being made, because it matters to ALL of us , from upcoming talents to industry leaders.

If you’re a creative, what has your experience been like?
Have you ever had to chase “your money”? 👇🏾

Happy Sunday!!!! To be honest! by @tomiodunsi

What a night!

Recently, we hosted an intimate watch party for two films, paired with a special live performance for a select group of industry stakeholders. It was an evening that went beyond just screenings and entertainment, it was a true celebration of collaboration and creativity.

From the planning stages to the final applause, this was a shared effort. The event came together because different people brought their unique strengths, ideas, and energy to the table. That spirit of collaboration was not only present in the work behind the scenes, but it was also felt in the atmosphere throughout the evening.

Watching the expressions on guests’ faces was one of the highlights for me. There was joy, curiosity, and moments of deep reflection as they engaged with the films and danced to the performance. We were able to give them something that felt special, a carefully curated screen experience and a live performance that together created a truly memorable night.

For me, the biggest takeaway is that collaboration multiplies possibilities. When talented minds and hands work together, the end result often exceeds what any one person could achieve alone. It reminded me that the beauty of such moments is not only in the final product but in the shared journey to make it happen.

I also learnt that experiences matter. People remember how you make them feel, and our guests left feeling inspired, appreciated, and connected. That, to me, is the real success of the event.

It was more than just a watch party, it was proof that when we combine our resources, ideas, and passion, we can create something truly magical.

Iyare’s cover didn’t just blow… it exploded. 😅

One minute he’s undercover, next minute everything is out in the open.

What would YOU do if you found out someone was guarding you secretly
