I had paused my smart bike rides because of the good weather. However, with all the rain, I reactivated my app and on rainy days continue to ride my bike inside. I have the best of both worlds! This ride was in a mountain valley in Italy. by @tomkeplerwriting

I took a 24 mile bike ride today. About 2/3 of the ride was on a combination of gravel and unimproved roads. It was a fun adventure on my bicycle. I was able to find out how well my Aventon Level 2 electric bike handled gravel and dirt. I’m glad to say it did a great job! I rode to Woodthrush Woods State Preserve, which is east of Fairfield near Lockridge. It is an undeveloped piece of state land that has no entrance, no road, no path – it is basically a solid, overgrown piece of land, very wild. I wasn’t expecting a developed place to visit, but I did expect at least an identifying sign. Oh well, it was a great ride! by @tomkeplerwriting

Walking the beach in the late afternoon is a different experience, with the light coming from the west. People sitting on the beach or out for a quiet walk after work, today the tide was out, providing a firmer, flatter walking surface and new textures. Leaving soon. (Have to get back home because I promised to substitute teach on Tuesday!) taken in Carlsbad State Beach by @tomkeplerwriting
