Tonight’s opening reception for E.L.I.T.E. showcased Endurance, Loss, Identity, Transformation, and Emergence. Best In Show is a mesmerizing piece by Mary Alice Landry (@earth_expressions_art), powerfully exhibiting her health challenges and successes. Gloria Rae Walker and I stand with “The NoHello, Goodbye Door,” an ode to her mom and all mothers created with an actual screen door that won Second Place (@glorious_impressions). And the extremely talented Brian Ouellette whose “Breaking The Chains” symbolizes his recovery from Functional Neurological Disorder (@bostudio87). We hung nearly 180 works of art tonight in preparation of “LIVE: An Interactive Exhibit” opening this Thursday, Aug. 6, from 11am-7pm at @intercommunity gallery at InterCommunity Health Care, 281-287 Main St., East Hartford. This FIRST-EVER live, salon style showcase features 40 + local artists with AFFORDABLE, original pieces, $200 or less. Some as low as $25. Admission is FREE and part of a day long celebration of community and health. Live music, information booths. We got it all going on. Will we see you? A reunion 50 years in the making! We last saw each other as teenagers, partying with our high school friends in Greenwich, especially with our late, great friend Chip. Now, Bobby runs a multimillion dollar real estate company in Los Angeles, and I’m retired and eat multi millions of chocolate chip cookies in Connecticut. And we’re both happy and healthy. What a great day with this guy and his lovely wife Pam, parents of three and grandparents. And leave it to Bobby to find a wonderful restaurant in Ridgefield, CT. #reunion #oldfriend #highschool by @tomman818
