What if luxury wasn’t about the price tag but the experience? Last week, @till_janczukowicz and I met our curator, @simondepury in Monaco for a working session on the @_hello_genius 2025 program. As we sat at Café de Paris, surrounded by the iconic symbols of old-world luxury—yachts, casinos, and supercars—it struck me: the definition of luxury is shifting. New or future luxury, or as I would call it, “human” luxury, is no longer about the status that comes with owning expensive things but about the moments, the interactions, and the personal growth we experience. And this is the core of HelloGenius. We’re creating courses that go beyond the traditional. Imagine learning from the most inspiring minds of our time, not just through lectures but through live, interactive sessions where you can ask questions, share your thoughts, and co-create with them alongside a community of like-minded people. We’re kicking this off in May with something really special: A month with John Malkovich! And that’s just the beginning. As 2024 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the incredible milestones and highlights that this year brought. Three stand out above the rest. The most recent one was witnessing my youngest daughter, Rose Meggle, graduate with distinction from the University College of Osteopathy. Just before that, I had the pleasure of returning to Japan for the first time in 26 years. My first visit with my father was to the Meggle Japan subsidiary he founded in 1977. This time, I traveled with my wife Valérie from Kurashiki to Mount Koya, Kyoto, Kanazawa and then Tokyo. Our road trip was an incredible immersion into the beauty of Japanese culture. My favorite highlight of our journey was the Kokedera moss gardens in Kyoto, a place with a meditative energy from a different sphere. And then, of course, July was definitely a month to remember. It was the time when I first met @till_janczukowicz out of the blue, and our journey for @_hello_genius kicked off. So what were your highlights in 2024? A revolution not only for LV but the entire fashion industry. Now, I’m building on the legacy of incredible mentors like Yves Carcelle, @jeanmarcgallot , and @ro_eggs . One of my career’s most exciting and unexpected paths was the beginning of my time at @cartier When they began their search for a General Manager for the German, Austrian, and Eastern European markets, I saw a once in a life time opportunity. Knowing my CV might not stand out in the traditional application process, I decided to take a more direct approach. I sent my application directly to the former CEO, Guy Leymarie. To my delight, he expressed interest, and after a series of interviews, I landed the role. Under the mentorship of leaders like Gérard Djaoui, I grew and learnt quickly to develop the brand’s expansion in Eastern Europe, culminating in the opening of Cartier Prague in 2007. The picture is actually from the opening, with President Václav Klaus and Mayor Pavel Bem, who had just returned to work from climbing Mount Everest. This experience fuels my passion for @_hello_genius and our vision to connect you with exceptional minds and mentors like John Malkovich, empowering you to navigate your own unique journey.
