What a crazy couple months. Going for Rico’s MR3 a month after bringing home a newborn may not have been the best idea but we did it and I’m proud of the training we showed. It was a huge accomplishment for me but it was also another MR3 for Northwoods Ringsport. I couldn’t have done it with out the guidance from my mentors and club. I wouldn’t be the trainer and handler I am without a team.

Thank you to Jake Schneider for everything you’ve done for us over the years, it was an honor to earn our first MR3 under you.

Thank you to the decoys Paul Salveson and Ethan Hilgemann. Can’t train or compete without good decoys. Thank you Maureen Haggerty and everyone who helped put the trial on!

Last but not least, to my Wife Chelsea Martin and my family who holds down the fort when I’m at club, and weekends away. None of it’s possible without you🙏 by @tommyjohnmn

First couple of sends 🤞🏼✨

She didn’t stick the first bite right away but was quick to recover and make contact. Second send she stuck it which I was suuuper freaking amped to see!! Not perfect by any means, I’m just happy to see her continue to improve and hopefully get her off the back line soon.

Happy Birthday RICO!

I hit the lottery with this dog. The last five years have been filled with more opportunities and milestones than I could have ever imagined. He drives me nuts a lot of the time but I wouldn’t change a thing. Here’s to another five years with the best dog. S/O to @harlanhillsk9 for breeding some great dogs 🫡

What a week. Started with three days of Mondioring. Some of the hottest days of summer spent in the suit working dogs. On Sunday @rokusmc79 and I drove straight up to Fargo/Moorhead for a Two day decoy class. Wednesday and Thursday were regular work days with private lessons and pet clients. Friday was back in the suit for 10 mondioring dogs. I’ve been doing this for the last few years but this week was different. The last few years if I had a 3 day seminar followed by police dogs on mon-tue, it was someone else’s seminar I was decoying for free, and MAYBE getting paid a couple hundred bucks for the police dogs, but that was after 2 years of not taking a penny. The last 5 years I’ve spent head down, working my ass off, and doing it the right way. Never once advertising “bitework sessions” or charging for decoy work other than $20 bucks at club. If I had clients for bitework it was because someone referred them. I knew if I kept getting in the suit and putting in the work, learning and getting better, it would eventually pay off. taken in Moorhead, Minnesota by @tommyjohnmn
