Today is one month since Butters left us. This has been the longest, weirdest, and perhaps worst month of my life. The first time I met our kitty was April 2020. She was hunting a lizard. We thought she was a boy, so we called her Milo and Yoshi for a while. We landed on Princess Buttercup when we were told she was a girl. Logan and I never had cats growing up, so this was a brand new experience for us. Being that I’m allergic to cats, I never thought I would have one. She had lived outside for five years and never knew what it meant to live inside. In 2023 we officially took her in and everything changed in the best of ways. I’m having such a hard time without our Butters now. She comforted me when I cried and helped me sleep when my anxiety was off the charts. She was silly, patient, trusting, and hilarious. Butters was so beautiful and gentle. I still see her around the place, I swear. We were so lucky to share our home with her for two years. Time is a thief. This was all so unexpected and we are in disbelief that our baby is gone. I just want Princess back, though all the time we had together was worth it. I cannot express enough appreciation to all of you who have followed Princess Buttercup Davies Pope lore, shared stories to help soothe our fragile hearts, and grieved with us. Thank you to those that we have leaned on through this challenging experience. You all somehow made it bearable and I am so grateful. Rest easy, Sweet Princess. by @tommypicklesss
