The Staircase

The night destroys the light,
We lean into the fight,
Should we take another bite?
The signal starts to fade,
Let's end this masquerade,
Should we borrow just to save?

Tell me to fight or to flight.

We're falling down the staircase,
Can we hold on to survive?
When we don't know what's at the bottom,
They told us it would always be fine.

The wind destroys the fire,
The mind begins to tire,
Try and get a little higher?
When the circus comes to town,
Be aware of clowns around,
Watch out for painted smiles,

Time to let our heads go down.

We're falling down the staircase,

It's been ten long years before we reach the shores that we've been heading for.
I'm coming home, to see you.

No idea where we're heading for,

I feel the cold, I can feel what we've lost.
