Dusty & Burnt 🥵 What a weekend!! 💥🇬🇧🙌🏻

It’s always a pleasure to be invited back to @fosgoodwood to compete, but this year was extra special as we unveiled a one-off livery celebrating 25 years since Richard Burns and Robert Reid won the World Rally Championship. 🇬🇧🏆

The rally went right down to the wire. We led every day, but heading into the final stage we had just a one-second advantage on the notoriously slippery and ever-changing Goodwood rally stage. We crossed the finish line with a winning margin of just 0.5 seconds! 🫣

It felt great to be back competing after our big accident at Olympus Rally. We were gutted to miss Ohio Rally not too long ago, but hopefully we’ll be back in action again soon. 👊🏻 🇺🇸

A huge thanks to the team and everyone involved. It was my first time in the Polo Rally2, and what a machine! It was also great to catch up with so many familiar faces and meet some great new people.

A privilege to be competing at the @fosgoodwood once again, and an honour to be here celebrating 25 years since Richard Burns and Robert Reid’s World Rally Championship title.

We’re running a one-off livery this weekend, inspired by Richards iconic helmet. It’s also my first time behind the wheel of the VW Polo Rally2, and it feels great to be back in the car after our accident at Olympus Rally.

Some real positives to take from a tough weekend 🙌

We reached the podium in 9 of 13 stages we ran. We’re also building on each event together with @standard.motorsports , especially considering this was only our second event together and just my fourth time in the Fabia RS.

With every event, things are starting to click. We’re feeling more comfortable, pushing closer to the limit, and it’s great to see that reflected in the times. We’ve gone from being over a second per kilometre off the pace to just over 0.5s/km at times, behind @jmlatvala . one of the most experienced drivers in rallying.

There’s still plenty to work on, but we’re moving in the right direction. Huge thanks to the team again, and to all the organisers for putting on such great events 🌲🤟🏻

Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with messages of support for @ross_whittock and me after the rally! 🙏🏻

We had a big accident in the final stages of the @olympusrally , but thankfully we’re both okay.

It’s a tough one to take. We’d been sitting 2nd overall for most of the event behind @jmlatvala in the factory @tgr_wrc Toyota, and to lose it so close to the end is gutting, especially for the whole team and all of my supporters who put so much into getting us here. Just making it to this event was a huge milestone, and we really pushed to make it count.

There are still plenty of positives to take from the weekend, but this time it just wasn’t meant to be. A small mistake with big consequences.

A huge thank you to @skodamotorsport for building such a safe car, and to the @fia.official and @ara_rally for the continued work and development in safety, it really makes a difference.

We’ll be back and the championship is for anyone’s taking now. 👊🏻 @ara_rally by @tommytwotrees
