Real happy to link it all together at the 4* and end up with 6th on the day. I wanted to ski something fun that made me happy. I battled in the previous 2 comps so it felt real good to get to the bottom.

MFG 006!!!!!! Hi everyone, Movement For Good is back next week with another event, this time an evening trail run in the Port Hills. Tuesday 14th July, meeting 6pm for 5 easy km in the dark with a good crew, followed by post run refreshments thanks to @b.effectbrewing :).

Movement for Good has been on my mind for a while. A place to bring people together to connect because movement is fun, and makes you feel amazing. Somewhere to leave to phones in the car and instead chat with others over something we love.

Can you remember when you last moved purely because it felt good? A run or bike without taking a photo that ends up on instagram, or without recording it on Strava. These things are good in moderation, but when does it become too much? Are we losing the ability to move purely for the fun of it?

Don’t get me wrong I have fallen into that trap too. External pressure from social media puts an idea in your head of what exercise should be. A fake image directly at your eyeballs. Sometimes enough crap to melt your f@&ken face off. Politely, I don’t care about your GRWM for a run.

Life is hard enough, why do we have to complicate the easiest stuff.

This puts people off exercise because they feel like that can’t do what they are seeing online. People are too scared to even give it a go because they are so stuck comparing themselves to others. If you don’t like running, don’t go. Just because everyone else seems to be training for a marathon doesn’t mean you should. Find something else that actually floats your boat. Who cares, give it a go. Jump in head first and see what happens.

Do hard things, for you. Please, do things that make you scared, or you don’t think you can complete. Push yourself further than you ever thought you could go. But do it for you. Do it because it makes you feel accomplished. Just because some muppet on the internet runs 100km doesn’t take away from your incredible achievement of running your first 10km, or going for your first MTB ride.
