This place looks almost like Mars.
It was created by volcanic activity and the power of the sea over thousands of years.
The unusual red brown rocks and landscape make it feel like you’ve stepped onto another planet.
It’s one of those places that makes you realize how powerful nature really is.

まるで火星みたいなこの場所。
何千年もの間、火山活動と海の力によってつくられた独特の地形です。
赤茶色の岩と荒々しい大地が広がっていて、本当に別の惑星に来たような感覚。

佐渡・宿根木にある称光寺。
1349年に開かれた、佐渡最古の時宗寺院のひとつ。海とともに歩んできた宿根木の歴史を感じる場所です。

Shōkōji Temple, in Shukunegi, Sado Island.

For wavy, curly, or frizzy hair, gently detangle your hair before rinsing out the conditioner. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible, then softly wrap your hair in a towel and gently press out any remaining moisture. Mom, I’m sorry. I know you don’t really like having your picture taken, but I wanted to keep a small memory of us being together on this special day. Both Taipei City and Jiufen were truly beautiful places, and everyone we met was so warm and kind. That’s exactly why I wanted to remember this time with you properly. Thank you.

媽媽，對不起。我知道你不太喜歡拍照，但我還是想把我們在這個特別日子裡一起度過的時光，稍微留下來做紀念。台北市和九份都是真正很美的地方，而我們遇見的每一個人也都非常溫暖親切。正因如此，我更想好好記住和你一起度過的這段時間。謝謝你。

これからの人生も、大切な人たちへの感謝を忘れずに、幸せに生きていけたらと思います。
みんな、本当にありがとう。

50年來，經歷了許多迷惘與徬徨，仍然一步一步走到了今天。
這趟旅程，是送給自己的一份禮物。

和媽媽這樣相處的時光，並不是永遠理所當然，所以我想好好珍惜。

未來的人生，也希望能一直懷著感恩的心，和重要的人們一起幸福地生活下去。
真的很謝謝大家。

For 50 years, I’ve gone through so many doubts and detours, yet somehow I still made it this far.
This journey is a little gift to myself.

Time spent with my mother like this won’t last forever, so I truly want to cherish every moment.

New York 24 years and counting. I met Matsu (Tomokazu Matsuyama) around that same time.

I still remember the first time I saw him, back when he was creating on the streets. I had this feeling “he was going to become someone”.
There was so much drama within his vivid use of color, and I could feel the world he was living in through his work. I was instantly drawn in.

I deeply connect with the sensibility he developed here in New York, and the way he always approaches his work with sincerity has given me courage time and time again.

Now, as an artist representing the world and loved by so many, I truly respect you, Matsu kun!

Thank you so much for inviting me today.

ニューヨークに来て24年。
松くんと出会ったのもちょうどその頃。

まだストリートで活動してた彼を初めて見たとき、「この人は何者かになるな」って直感したのを今でも覚えてる。
鮮やかな色使いの中にいろんなドラマがあって、その奥にある松くんの世界観に一気に引き込まれたんだよね。

ニューヨークから生まれた松くんの感性にすごく共感してるし、どんな時も真剣に向き合ってるその姿に、いつも勇気をもらってる。

今では世界を代表するアーティストになって、こんなにもたくさんの人に愛されている松くんを心から尊敬してます。
