a little bit about me ⋆˙⟡

Hi, I'm Selena! I launched Tomo Shoppe this year, and these past eight months have been a wild ride of pure experimentation -- testing out markets, hosting workshops, popping up at local cafes, and figuring out what feels most authentic to build.

𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦 as a small business owner in San Diego! I want to film more behind-the-scenes content for Tomo Shoppe, so im excited to share my first one⋆˙⟡

I bopped around SD on this day from Kearny Mesa to Balboa Park to North Park, which made for a fun day to film a 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦~

one-of-one bag charms

I had so much fun making these. Many of the beads were picked up when I was traveling across Asia earlier this year (and some I only found one of) -- which means most of these can never be remade the exact same way twice. Each one is hand-knotted with a specific feeling, memory, or place in mind.

I love creating pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind and reflective of the little moments that inspired them.

These three have already found their homes, but if there's interest, I'll plan small drops like this in the future so you can snag one ⋆˙⟡

I'm headed to LA County for a mini pop-up market at @anthropologie this Sat, Sept 19 from 12–4pm at The Shops at Santa Anita (yay, AC) with Mel @1175.co✨️

I’ll have my interactive charm bar set up alongside hand-knotted paracord accessories, so come browse, build a custom piece on the spot, or just say hi!

August recap, but make it a reel ⋆˚✿˖°

Thank you to everyone who showed up for me this month. Friends + family who helped vend, familiar faces who came back not just once but twice(!), and new folks who found me on IG and still came out on the hottest day of the month -- I'm so grateful for your enthusiasm for my pieces and this business venture.

August was also big for community. Connecting with other local entrepreneurs, attending their events, hearing their stories, and growing alongside such talented entrepreneurs has been one of the fulfilling parts of this journey.

This is just the beginning. September has some exciting things ahead, so stay tuned!

⋆˚✿ to-gether mo-re ✿˚⋆

A few weeks ago, my two sisters visited me in San Diego so we could take lifestyle photos for Tomo Shoppe. I knew I wanted my first photoshoot to be with them since they are and have always been my biggest supporters and sources of inspiration.

Tomo Shoppe has grown so much since my first pop-up. It's taken on new forms, new offerings, and continues to evolve as I explore where this path leads. I'm still figuring things out, but enjoying the process these days rather than solely focusing on the results (my bad habit im breaking this year).

I'm so excited for what's to come for the remainder of the year + beyond, and endlessly grateful you're here for the journey✨️

✿ july recap ✿

A month of tinkering, experimenting, and figuring things out. A month of learning more about myself, building confidence amidst self-doubt, and genuinely enjoying the process more than the end result.

This summer, I decided to lean deeper into knot-tying and rebranded from Tomo Charms to Tomo Shoppe. As much as I love charms -- and no, they're not going away -- I'm excited to introduce new pieces that involve more complex knot work.

I met more amazing creatives and fell deeper in love with our city in July. I hosted events and also showed up for community members doing the same. San Diego has this unique, symbiotic energy where we're all supporting each other and lifting each other up.

I'm also working on some cool collaborations behind the scenes, so I'll be sharing those as they get closer.

I had so much fun making this recap post. It's like a digital scrapbook and a way for me to reflect on the past monfh -- the people, conversations, wins, challenges, and everything in between.
