I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected by the National Party as the candidate for the new Mount Maunganui electorate in next year’s election. I’m a local through and through, I grew up here and I’m proud to call this place home. It’s a real privilege to represent our community and I hope to earn your support next year. by @tomrutherford_bop

Your daily reminder! by @tomrutherford_bop

Final week of the campaign with a pretty good view of the Mount from Welcome Bay!

I’ve loved being out every day, knocking on doors, delivering flyers, and talking with locals about the issues that matter to them and what they want from their MP.

A massive thank you to the volunteers who keep turning up and backing me. You’re an incredible team.

We’ve made progress, but we can’t leave the job half done. A Party Vote for National keeps our plan to move New Zealand forward going.

And here at home, I’d be incredibly grateful for your candidate vote too. It would be an absolute privilege to keep working hard and making a positive difference for the community I call home. by @tomrutherford_bop

There's been a lot of chatter about strategic voting. So I used some M&M's to show you why it's so important that you party vote National.

And if you live in the Mt Maunganui electorate, I'd appreciate your candidate vote too. by @tomrutherford_bop

Not every day you get to run 5km down an airport runway!

Awesome to take part in Run the Runway at Tauranga Airport tonight, all in support of our Aerocool Rescue Helicopter and helping keep this lifesaving service ready when our community needs it most. by @tomrutherford_bop

Happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful morning at the Papamoa Community Market.

On today until 1pm, come say hi, grab a coffee, have a wander, and let’s chat. by @tomrutherford_bop

Football brought everyone together today, but Alex was the reason we were all there.

A privilege to take part in the Alex Young Charity Match, supporting Alex and his family through his cancer battle.

We went down 5-2, but it was a great match played in great spirits. Thanks to everyone who came along and showed their support! by @tomrutherford_bop

This morning I joined the Doing Good Foundation to welcome the Binn family into their new home and celebrate an exciting step on their journey towards home ownership.

The Doing Good Foundation helps local families through its rent-to-buy programme, providing a pathway for those who may not yet have the deposit needed to buy a home, but are working hard towards owning one of their own.

It was really special to be part of the Binn family’s Home Dedication and celebrate this milestone with them! by @tomrutherford_bop
