Tomson on Bree serves a range of banging Cantonese street food and a juicy selection of incredible local wines. It is hands down my new favourite casual eatery in Cape Town.

I so enjoyed making this episode with Andrew Kai. Such a wealth of experience and a really practical take on his craft. This was episode 19 of Season Two. You can find A Table in the Corner wherever you listen to podcasts.

Bree St Food Sundays is returning again on the last Sunday of the month. Part of the open-street experiment @streetexperimentsafrika between @young_urbanists and @geordin.hill.lewis, Cape Town’s coolest street is becoming even more cooler.

Food and drinks will move out onto the street as part of Bree St Sundays, with street cafés, sidewalk kitchens, and casual bars serving small tasting portions of food and cocktails at an affordable price.

Each tasting costs R49*, so you can walk, stop, taste whilst enjoying car-free Bree St Sundays.

Bree St Food Sundays takes place 29 March from 12:00 to 16:00, right in the middle of Bree St Sundays.

The open-street experiment tests what our city feels like when the road works for people, not just for cars. Most cafés, restaurants, and shops on Bree are open — come spend time, bring friends, bring kids, bring your board, your bike, your book, your ball.

Ten percent of every R49 that is spent by PAN Group affiliated venues goes back to Bree St Sundays to support inclusive, people first public space in the heart of the Inner City.
